Applications will be reviewed beginning in April 2026. Interviews will begin upon the completion of application review.</p> <p>Two positions available: One at Southern Campus and one at Scott Northern Campus.</p> <p>This position is responsible for providing effective instruction for assigned courses.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary job functions herein described.</p> <ul> <li>Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner </li><li>Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance </li><li>Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour </li><li>Maintains a safe, collaborative, and respectful working environment </li><li>Grades and returns student work in a timely manner </li><li>Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course </li></ul> <p>Collects and reports student learning outcome data as directed by division Dean</p> <p>Arranges for appropriate classroom materials that support the goals of the course</p> <p>Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction</p> <p>Maintains regular office hours</p> <p>Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom</p> <p>Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching</p> <p>Serves on college or department committees as needed</p> <p>Attends professional development opportunities when possible</p> <p>Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus</p> <p>Demonstrates good management and care of college/departmental resources</p> <p>Participate in graduation exercises</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <p>Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning</p> <p>Ability to be innovative, creative, motivated</p> <p>Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others</p> <p>Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently</p> <p>Good organizational skills</p> <p>Knowledge of and familiarity with technology and software including, computers, and web-based resources such as Blackboard.</p> <p>Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision</p> <p>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal</p> <p>Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>PhD in Art History or Master's degree in Art History or a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Art History</p> <p>One year of post-secondary teaching experience</p> <p>Unofficial transcripts must be attached with your online application prior to submission or submitted to Human Resources immediately upon completing the application. If your transcripts are not submitted, your application may not receive full consideration.</p> <p>Preferences:</p> <p>Three years of experience teaching university-level art history courses or equivalent at the community college level</p> <p>Three years of experience teaching surveys of non-Western Art, Modern and Contemporary Art (in addition to the Western Survey and Art Appreciation)</p> <p>Experience teaching synchronously online, with demonstrated ability to create engaging and interactive real-time virtual learning environments</p> <p>As an equal employment opportunity employer, Wake Tech values our workforce.
