<p>Position Summary/Department Summary:</p> <p>The mission of the Department of Pharmacy is to provide excellent and innovative pharmaceutical care to patients and the community through safe and collaborative practices, incorporating education, research, and technology. We are currently searching for a 40-hour pharmacist to work in our new onsite retail pharmacy</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Interpreting and evaluating medication orders to ensure drug and dosage are appropriate for patient and to identify possible adverse reactions, contacting physician as needed. </li><li>Reviewing, filling and dispense physician medication orders/prescriptions. </li><li>Checking orders/prescriptions filled by support personnel, verifying products are correctly prepared and labeled. </li><li>Providing drug information as a subject matter expert. </li><li>Providing patient education. </li><li>Completing medication history documentation. </li><li>Performing quality improvement activities. </li><li>Supervising support personnel within assigned work area and ensuring products are prepared and distributed in accordance with established procedures, schedules and protocols. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, Doctorate degree in Pharmacy preferred. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Up to one year of post-degree course work and/or an internship and/or: two to three years general pharmacy experience. </li><li>Massachusetts pharmacist license, or Massachusetts pharmacy intern license is required; Massachusetts pharmacist license must be obtained within the first 90 days of employment. </li><li>Previous hospital-based retail pharmacy pediatric experience highly preferred </li><li>Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data to solve problems OR design relatively complex systems and programs. </li><li>Communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions or well-developed writing skills. </li></ul> <p>Licensure/Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Massachusetts pharmacist license </li></ul> <p>Schedule is rotating days/eves/weekends</p> <p>Boston Children's Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits including flexible schedules, affordable health, vision and dental insurance, childcare and student loan subsidies, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition and certain License and Certification Reimbursement, cell phone plan discounts and discounted rates on T-passes.
