<p>UPMC Mercy is hiring a casual Teacher's Aide to support the Child Development Center!</p> <p>The Child Development Center is open Monday-Friday during daylight hours and this position works on an as needed basis.</p> <p>Are you passionate about child development? Apply today!</p> <p>Preferred candidates will have previous work experience in a childcare setting with children ranging from infants to pre-kindergarten. This position is great for college students!</p> <p>Purpose:</p> <p>Assists teaching staff to provide quality childcare for the children enrolled in the Child Development Center. Assists to promote the children's social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth by assisting with play and learning activities. Strictly follows department policies and procedures to assure child safety and hygiene.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Complete job tasks for assigned shift as designated by teachers or assistant teachers. </li><li>Independently earns on-going training hours, as dictated by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. </li><li>Assist to maintain a center-wide environment that is clean, orderly, safe and attractive. </li><li>Promote children's hygiene by attending to their personal needs such as toileting, diapering and hand washing. </li><li>Assist children with their play as directed by teacher or assistant teacher. </li><li>Maintain confidentiality about children and their families at all times. </li><li>Works between centers as needed to meet staffing needs; works in other rooms or shifts as needed to keep center in compliance with Department of Public Welfare licensing regulations. </li><li>High School diploma or GED is required. </li><li>Experience with children through volunteer work, babysitting or training programs is required. </li><li>Good time management and organizational skills to complete job tasks within assigned timeframe. </li><li>Must be able to interact in a supportive, loving and consistent manner with children. </li><li>Must be able to accept supervision and guidance from multiple professionals. </li><li>Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with a wide range of personnel. </li><li>Good oral and written communication skills are required. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate flexibility and maintain composure is required. </li></ul> <p>Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:</p> <ul> <li>Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal </li><li>Act 33 with renewal </li><li>Act 34 with renewal </li><li>Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal </li><li>National Sex Offender Registry with renewal </li></ul> <p>UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran</p>
