<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of the Office of School Safety (OSS), this position acts as a mid-level Supervisor within OSS. They supervise resource center analyst staff within OSS Speak Up Speak Out (SUSO) Resource Center. The OSS Resource Center is a statewide resource for schools, law enforcement agencies and communities that is focused on optimizing school safety and preventing violence in all Wisconsin schools. Our nationally respected practices include our reporting tipline, SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT Wisconsin (SUSO); Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management protocols, training, consultation and support; Crisis Response and Recovery support for any school impacted by a crisis event; and school safety best practice guidance to schools as they meaningfully comply with their Wis. Stat. § 118.07 required school safety submissions and grant management. The OSS Resource Center serves as an entry point to access these services and supports. These OSS initiatives prioritize prevention, protection, early intervention, harm mitigation, and recovery strategies.</p> <p>This position leads and/or coordinates the operational team responsible for all tips received and documented in the system, coordinates the dispatching of additional resource personnel if needed and troubleshoots any programmatic and/or technical issues that may arise within the system. This position will also have on-call responsibility during nights and weekends, based on a rotation with other staff, or as needed to ensure the School Safety Resource Center is operational on a 24/7/365 basis.</p> <p>This position will be the main contact for the Office of School Safety Resource software system, responsible for responding to requests from and collecting data regarding four school safety domains: Threat Reporting Program, General Guidance Requests, Critical Incident Team Requests, and Threat Assessment Consultation Requests.</p> <p>This position independently exercises a high level of leadership in the planning, development, implementation, administration and evaluation of the School Safety Resource Center (RC) programs. This includes formulating and implementing OSS policy and procedures for the Resource Center, and leading complex policy analysis including the evaluation of policies and procedures, program operations and any organizational issues associated with the Resource Center. This position will function as the liaison with high level management and external stakeholders.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The Program and Policy Supervisor position is in pay schedule 81 and pay range 03. The starting pay will be between $35 - $45.67/hr. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period may be required.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>This position will also have on-call responsibility during nights and weekends, based on a rotation with other staff, or as needed to ensure the School Safety Resource Center is operational on a 24/7/365 basis.</p> <p>In-state travel may be required at times. Must be eligible to drive when required for travel. This position may also be required to report to the assigned headquarters as needed. Travel to the headquarters is not eligible for travel reimbursement.</p> <p>The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9.</p> <p>An extensive background check, including fingerprints, will be completed on applicants prior to selection.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Please clearly address the following in your resume and/or letter of qualifications:</p> <p>Minimally qualified candidates must have training, education, or work experience in the following areas:</p> <ul> <li>Formal leadership role such as a lead worker with experience in training and directing the work of others, leading a project or initiative, and serving as a key resource. </li><li>Leading program development and planning with the ability to analyze and evaluate new and existing programs to identify and recommend changes for improvement. </li><li>Working with administrative personnel to provide programmatic information; identify and solve program problems; plan and coordinate work efforts; and/or troubleshoot any programmatic and/or technical issues. </li><li>Providing customer service to internal and external customers, including communication of policies, procedures and laws governing the organization. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the qualifications listed above, well-qualified applicants will have a combination of the following:</p> <ul> <li>General knowledge of operating procedures of K-12 schools in Wisconsin and/or general knowledge of law enforcement operating procedures. </li><li>Professional experience in assessing risk and vulnerability and/or experience in crisis management. </li><li>General knowledge of digital and/or general threat assessments. </li><li>Professional experience managing the operations of a 24/7/365 system monitoring center. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>Apply online!
