<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Reporting to the Office Manager of Emerson Cardiovascular Associates and working under the immediate direction of the Physician(s), the Lead Cardiac Sonographer performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Cardiographic testing on patients and testing center supervision.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education</p> </li><li> <p>Completion of a Certified Ultrasound program required.</p> </li><li> <p>Cardiac Sonography certificate program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or equivalent required.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of two years' experience performing and interpreting 2D, M-Mode, and Doppler Echocardiograms.</p> </li><li> <p>Vascular Ultrasound experience preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Licensure and/or Certification</p> </li><li> <p>BLS healthcare provider required.</p> </li><li> <p>Current registration as RDCS or RCS required; or registry-eligible with RDCS or RCS achieved within 6 months of hire.</p> </li><li> <p>Skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be well versed in medical terminology</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to explain the purpose of the echocardiographic examination to the patient and answer patient's questions</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular and thoracic anatomy, cardiovascular pathophysiology, hemodymanics and embryology, in order to recognize normal and abnormal cardiovascular structure, function and abnormalities of blood flow.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains knowledge and understanding of ultrasound physics, instrumentation, tissue characteristics, and measurements of blood flow.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.</p> </li><li> <p>Computer skills required.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain confidential information.</p> </li></ul>
