<p>This is a structured, multi-year development role designed to build a highly skilled technician pipeline and prepare the apprentice for a full-time technician position upon completion all while earning competitive wages during participating in the program. At the end of the program the successful candidate will acquire his/her Journeyman Card for the respective program.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Hands-On Technical Training</p> <ul> <li>Support piping layout, fabrication, and installation for boiler systems </li><li>Learn to install, thread, bend, and secure piping and tubing systems </li><li>Assist in mounting boiler components such as valves, gauges, burners, and accessories </li><li>Participate in re-tubing, insulation repair, and general boiler maintenance </li></ul> <p>Controls & Electrical Exposure</p> <ul> <li>Assist in wiring motors, controls, and auxiliary equipment for boilers </li><li>Support building and testing control panels and fuel skids </li><li>Learn to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams </li><li>Assist with troubleshooting electrical and control systems </li><li>Observe and support combustion setup and system start-up activities </li></ul> <p>Mechatronics & System Learning</p> <ul> <li>Develop foundational skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems </li><li>Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining integrated systems </li><li>Learn to use diagnostic tools and measurement equipment </li><li>Support system assembly, commissioning, and operational checks </li></ul> <p>Program & Development Activities</p> <ul> <li>Participate in structured ICATT classroom training and coursework </li><li>Rotate through departments to gain exposure to shop and field operations </li><li>Maintain training logs, documentation, and required program materials </li><li>Follow all company safety policies and ICATT program requirements </li><li>Activities and job duties may change at the discretion of employer </li></ul> <p>Learning Progression (ICATT Model)</p> <ul> <li>Year 1: Foundational skills, safety, and core mechanical/electrical basics </li><li>Year 2: Application of skills, increased hands-on responsibility </li><li>Year 3: Independent work, troubleshooting, and readiness for technician role </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Interest in mechanical, electrical, or technical trades </li><li>Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) </li><li>Ability to read basic technical drawings (preferred but not required) </li><li>Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs </li><li>Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and industrial environments </li><li>Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Combination of shop and field environments </li><li>Exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and varying temperatures </li><li>Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) </li></ul> <p>Program Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Paid on-the-job training </li><li>Associate Degree in Applied Science upon completion </li><li>U.S. Department of Labor Journeyman credential </li><li>Industry-recognized certifications </li><li>Direct pathway to full-time technician role </li></ul>
