<p>Duties</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>This position provides instruction to students and performs a wide variety of tasks with curriculum planning, supervision, presenting and reinforcing learning concepts, and teaching students in a classroom setting. The goal is to help students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible citizens.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate knowledge of content and teach approved curriculum. </li><li>Demonstrate an understanding of how individuals grow, develop, and learn and provide learning opportunities that support the intellectual, social, and personal development of all students. </li><li>Demonstrates an understanding of how students differ in their approaches to learning and create instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners. </li><li>Demonstrates an understanding of instructional planning and is able to design instruction based upon knowledge of discipline, students, the community, and curriculum goals. </li><li>Uses group motivation and behavior to create a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation. </li><li>Uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage students' development of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills. </li><li>Uses effective written, verbal, nonverbal, and visual communication techniques to foster active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interactions in the classroom. </li><li>Demonstrates an understanding of various formal and informal assessment strategies and uses them to support the continuous development of all students. </li><li>Demonstrates the understanding of the role of community in education and develops and maintains collaborative relationships with colleagues, parents/guardians, and the community to support student's learning and well-being. </li><li>Is a reflective practitioner who continually evaluates how choices and actions affect students, parents, and other professionals in the learning community, and actively seeks opportunities to grow professionally. </li><li>Demonstrates an understanding of education as a profession, maintains standards of professional conduct, and provides leadership to improve students' learning and well-being. </li></ul> <p>Professional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations. </li><li>Communicate with families. </li><li>Participate in a professional learning community. </li><li>Grow and develop professionally. </li><li>Demonstrate professionalism in behavior and dress. </li><li>Attend meetings, serve on committees, and perform such other duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal or his/her designee in accordance with the labor agreement and the Board of Education. </li><li>Remain available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day, such as parent teacher conferences. </li><li>Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules. </li><li>Have regular attendance and infrequent absences. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Endurance within a classroom setting;
