<p>Kforce's client, a growing and established Engineering Technology company, is seeking a Senior Electronic Design Engineer. This company offers a competitive compensation package including base salary, annual bonus/profit sharing, 401K matching, etc.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive design and development of analog and digital circuits, power systems, and signal processing subsystems for intricate products </li><li>Define system-level architecture and select components for electronic systems </li><li>Take circuit designs from initial concept through simulation, prototyping, testing, and integration </li><li>Design and implement sophisticated control systems using microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs </li><li>Lead and mentor the PCB design process, ensuring layouts are optimized for signal integrity, manufacturability, and thermal management </li><li>Oversee the entire PCB development lifecycle-from schematic capture and layout to review and prototyping-and perform simulations to validate PCB designs prior to mass production </li><li>Develop test plans, protocols, and procedures for hardware validation, performance testing, and debugging of prototypes </li><li>Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware with other system components </li><li>Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their growth and enhancing their design capabilities </li><li>Lead design reviews and technical discussions to ensure all engineering solutions meet design objectives and uphold the highest quality standards </li><li>Manage major design projects from initial planning and concept through to final implementation and production </li><li>Troubleshoot complex electrical issues during design, testing, and production, applying root cause analysis to resolve design defects or failures </li><li>Drive continuous improvements in design processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and accelerate time-to-market* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field </li><li>4-6 years of experience in electronic circuit design, PCB layout, and system-level integration Proficiency in electronic design and simulation tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, LTSpice, MATLAB, and PSpice </li><li>Experience with PCB design and layout software like Altium, Eagle, KiCad, and Mentor Graphics </li><li>Expertise in analog and digital signal processing, microcontroller, and embedded system design </li><li>Solid understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal design considerations </li><li>Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior engineers and encourage a collaborative team environment </li><li>Hands-on experience with circuit-level troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other bench tools </li><li>Experience with IDEs such as STM32CubeIDE, MPLAB X, or Atmel Studio, and toolchains like GCC and IAR or similar </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Familiarity with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS or CMSIS-RTOS for task scheduling and peripheral management is a plus </li><li>Proficiency in reading and writing basic firmware for microcontrollers/microprocessors (e.g., ARM Cortex, PIC, AVR) is a plus </li><li>Experience with C/C++ programming for hardware bring-up, peripheral configuration, and debugging via JTAG/SWD tools is a plus </li><li>Experience with high-speed, high-voltage, and mixed-signal circuit design is advantageous </li><li>Knowledge of wireless communication technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee) and IoT systems is desirable </li><li>Experience with FPGA programming is also a plus </li></ul>
