<p>Job Description<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>JOB TITLE:<\/span> <\/strong>Grant Compliance Specialist<\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>STATUS:<\/span><\/strong> Exempt<\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>POSITION DESCRIPTION:<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>The Grant Compliance Specialist is responsible for assisting the Grants Office in preparing new grant files, support the office in conducting award onboarding, maintain and coordinate records as per federal and grantor requirements, assist in identifying reporting requirements and schedules and work with departments to assure compliance requirements are met, timely. All work efforts are focused on effectively meeting the needs of the Meskwaki Nation and its membership. The Compliance Specialist will assist the Grants Office in maintaining currency with grants compliance, and in policy and planning activities. Work projects and objectives are developed with the aid and approval of the Grant Coordinator, but the Compliance Specialist must exercise initiative and judgement in carrying out these duties.<\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>\n</p> <ul> <li>Assist in execution of the Tribal government strategic priorities.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist in providing staffing support to the Grant Committee.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Interact with all entities involved in grant-funded activities, especially to address compliance issues.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist in maintaining Grant Office knowledge of general Grant policies and regulations.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Develop relationships and collaborating with Department Directors.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist in onboarding grant awards and in supporting grants implementation.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist in developing implementation plans for new grants to guide project manager(s).<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist in providing grant compliance training to Tribal Directors\/Project Managers.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Provide clear communication to assist Project Managers in understanding and performing grant program management, compliance, oversight, and reporting.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist to ensure grant activities are in compliance with budgets, general grant guidelines, policies and procedures, and quality control.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist with grant compliance issues and grant reporting and compliance coordination.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist in identifying grant issues, including policies, record management, and reviews.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist in conduct of project audits\/monitoring, recommending areas of compliance improvement, and developing roadmaps for remediation.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Track and resolve grant management related issues.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist in preparing award modifications to resolve grant award issues.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Assist with grant activity tracking systems and related hard and electronic files.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Aid in record keeping, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Maintain and update records in hard copy files and computer databases.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Create and update hard copy and shared electronic records with new files and info.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Create and upkeep stakeholder database with relevant contact information.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Follow policies and confidentiality requirements to safeguard data and information.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Perform other tasks and support to the Executive and Grants Office as assigned. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>\n</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Admin., Communications, Grant Management, or related field.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Knowledge and proficiency in P.C. word processing, spreadsheet, Internet and e-mail.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Knowledge of grant compliance requirements and how to communicate them to managers.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Knowledge of Tribal sovereignty and Tribal government function and structure<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Skill in verbal, written, and electronic communication.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Skill in organization, time management, and prioritization of work.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Skill in critical analysis of complex information.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Abilities to assist in various grants management responsibilities.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Abilities to research regulation and analyze grant awards for compliance conditions.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Abilities to work with Tribes and federal agencies that provide services to the Tribes.<\/span><\/li>\n </li><li>Driver's License Required.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Will be supervised by the Grant Coordinator.<\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>HOURS & SALARY:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Hours per week: 40<\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Salary: DOQ<\/span><\/p>\n</p> <p>Applicants will be required to submit to a background check and to a pre-employment drug test.<\/p>","</p>
