<p>Duties</p> <p>The Assistant Principal (K-8) is a key member of the District's administrative team, responsible for promoting a positive, safe, and effective learning environment across both Prairie Hill Elementary School and Willowbrook Middle School. This position will provide instructional leadership and operational support, with a primary focus on student management, staff collaboration, supervision, and special education compliance.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Principal or General Administrative Endorsement. </li><li>Successful teaching experience, preferably at the elementary and/or middle school levels. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in student discipline, instructional methodology, special education compliance, and staff evaluation. </li></ul> <p>Salary/Benefits</p> <ul> <li>190 work days </li><li>10 Sick Days </li><li>3 Personal Days </li><li>Medical, dental, and optional vision </li><li>Life insurance </li><li>Salary will be determined by experience, but will range from $65,000-$75,000 </li></ul> <p>Additional Notes</p> <p>The Assistant Principal shall perform duties across both buildings. Primary responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Student Behavior Management: Oversee and manage the student discipline process (K-8) in accordance with Board Policy, including conducting disciplinary conferences, assigning consequences, and communicating with parents/guardians. </li><li>Student Support: Coordinate and collaborate with the Principals, School Psychologist, School Social Workers, and other support staff regarding academic, social-emotional, and behavioral issues. </li><li>Crisis Management: Assist the Principals in implementing emergency response plans and supervising students during drills and actual emergencies. </li><li>Positive School Climate: Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive system of behavior support to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive school culture. </li><li>Daily Supervision: Provide daily supervision of both school facilities, including student arrival, dismissal, common areas (hallways, cafeteria), and recess. </li><li>Supervision of Events: Organize, supervise, and attend school-sponsored events, including but not limited to after-school activities, athletic events, concerts, and evening programs, to ensure safety and adherence to school standards. </li><li>Building Administration: Assume administrative authority and responsibility for the building(s) in the absence of the Building Principal(s), as directed by the Superintendent. </li></ul> <p>Secondary responsibilities include:</p> <p>Staff Collaboration: Provides support to facilitate opportunities for grade-level and content collaboration among teachers across both buildings, promoting vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment.</p> <ul> <li>Staff Evaluation: Conduct formal and informal observations and participate in the evaluation of staff (certified and/or non-certified) as delegated by the Building Principals and in compliance with the relevant Collective Bargaining Agreements and state mandates. </li><li>Curriculum Support: Work with teachers to analyze student performance data and implement effective instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all learners. </li><li>Special Education: Share District LEA Representative responsibilities with District Administrators at Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and Section 504 meetings, ensuring procedural compliance and the appropriate recommendations and allocation of special education and related services. </li></ul> <p>District 504 Case Management: Coordinate and collaborate with the 504 Coordinator to ensure 504 Plan development, implementation, and annual reviews.</p> <p>How to Apply</p> <p>Interested candidates should send a cover letter, resume, and 3 letters of recommendation to Superintendent Clint Czizek, at 6605 Prairie Hill Road, South Beloit, IL 61080, or email at czizekc@prairiehill.org</p> <p>Email Address</p> <p>czizekc@prairiehill.org</p> <p>School District</p> <p>Prairie Hill School District #133</p> <p>Position Website</p> <p>https://www.prairiehill.org/district-information/employment</p> <p>City Website</p> <p>www.prairiehill.org</p> <p>ILearn Link</p> <p>ILearn</p> <p>Report Card Link</p> <p>District Report Card</p> <p>Job Posting Date</p> <p>2/26/2026</p> <p>Application Deadline</p> <p>3/20/2026</p> <p>Start Date</p> <p>8/5/2026</p>
