We are a global company with offices in Brisbane, Australia and Sandy, Utah.</p> <p>What We Offer</p> <p>We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Firmware/Test Engineer to join our Sandy, Utah based team. In this role, you'll contribute to the development, validation, and continual improvement of embedded device platforms. You'll collaborate with hardware, firmware, and production teams to ensure high-quality, reliable products for global deployment. This is a hands-on, high-impact role requiring strong technical problem-solving, test automation expertise, and cross-functional collaboration.</p> <p>What You Will Do</p> <ul> <li>Write onboard tests to verify embedded device hardware for production and manufacturing. </li><li>Analyze test data to detect failure trends and drive continual device improvement. </li><li>Support the production floor by debugging test automation issues. </li><li>Develop test automation software to support hardware device manufacturing and production testing. </li><li>Report device design issues to ensure continual product improvement. </li><li>Validate device firmware releases against manufacturing and production automation. </li></ul> <p>Who You Are and What You Bring</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of experience in embedded firmware development using C/C++ in embedded Linux, preferably with the Yocto Project. </li><li>BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. </li><li>Experience working with embedded Linux systems. </li><li>Familiarity with wireless communication protocols (LTE, 5G). </li><li>Experience with ARM processors and firmware development tools. </li><li>Proficiency in debugging embedded systems using JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. </li><li>Understanding of secure firmware development and OTA update mechanisms. </li><li>Experience with networking protocols. </li><li>Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines. </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. </li></ul> <p>Desired Skills</p> <ul> <li>Tenacity to identify and resolve the root cause of issues. </li><li>Ability to debug hardware components for root cause analysis. </li><li>Perform design-for-manufacturing reviews of printed circuit boards. </li><li>Embedded Linux driver development and debugging. </li><li>Test software automation development, primarily using Python. </li><li>Robot Framework test development. </li><li>Web UI development for testing and automation systems. </li><li>Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Pay ranges are determined by role, job level and primary job location. The range displayed reflects the reasonable range we anticipate paying for this position and reflects the cost of labor within several U.S. geographic markets. The specific salary offered within the range will depend on various factors including, but not limited to the candidate's relevant and prior experience, education, skills, and primary work location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each position.
