<p>The purpose of the student internship/temporary position is to provide opportunities for college students to gain experience in the animal welfare industry and support the mission of Seminole County Animal Services.</p> <p>Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.</p> <p>Additional compensation based on licensure.</p> <p>Note: These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position.</p> <p>Individual must be available on a regular basis and demonstrate a willingness to learn all aspects of public animal shelter management to include but not limited to, Customer Service, Animal Control, Veterinary Medical Support, Shelter Operations and Leadership.</p> <p>Assist in the development and refinement of policies and procedures for animal shelter.</p> <p>Support the development and implementation of public outreach activities related to Animal Welfare.</p> <p>Establish and enhance donor relations strategy for Animal Shelter.</p> <p>Support the development and implementation of Seminole County Animal Services Strategic Plan.</p> <p>Enhance animal welfare partnership engagement strategies.</p> <p>Analyze data for the adequate distribution of animal welfare resources to areas of need.</p> <p>Support resource and donations management policy of the shelter.</p> <p>Must be able to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials (over 20 lbs.), for events.</p> <p>Must have experience in Microsoft Office software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other various software for program staff support.</p> <p>Additional Duties:</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned or as may be necessary.</p> <p>In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.</p> <p>Must be currently enrolled, with at least two years completed, in a higher education organization (university, college, or technical institute).</p> <p>A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.</p> <p>Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.</p> <p>Must be able to compose effective and accurate correspondence. Must possess the ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers and at all levels of the organization. Must be skilled in written and verbal communication</p> <p>Must be proficient with personal computer and general office equipment such as fax, copier, and printers.</p> <p>All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.</p> <p>Department Specific trainings per position may be required.</p>
