<p>This position is open to current Colorado residents only.</p> <p>Please note: This recruitment may be used to fill multiple vacancies.</p> <p>Division of Facilities Management - Northern Division </p> <p>The Division of Facilities Management is a customer-driven support organization responsible for providing facilities management services to all CDHS agencies and offices. These services include the maintenance of building and grounds, custodial, capital construction (budgeting and contract management), utilities management, vehicle fleet management, building space leasing allocation, and facilities planning services. This is accomplished through a centralized statewide team that is divided into three districts and a central office. By combining our expert professional extensive facilities knowledge and strong commitment to reliable, responsive service, we enable our clients to achieve consistently high performance facilities, and long-term value. Our goal is to be an organization that meets customer expectations 100% of the time. The facilities managed by the Division of Facilities Management (DFM) include 1,400 acres of land and 349 buildings comprising 3.8 million square feet. </p> <p>Facilities served: Colorado Mental Health Hospital at Fort Logan (CMHHFL), Department of Human Services (DHS) (1575 Sherman St.), Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC to include the group homes)and Division of Youth Services (DYS) facilities (Prairie Vista, Gilliam, Lookout Mountain Campus, Marvin W. Foote, Mount View Campus and Platte Valley.) Provides as needed support to the Veterans Community Living Center located in the district. Total facilities are approximately 1.9 million sq. ft. at multiple sites within the Northern Region. </p> <p>Most State of Colorado employees are eligible for a great benefit package! Please see the Supplemental Information section below for details!</p> <p>This unit exists to perform Housekeeping and Custodial services to assure that the facilities and client environments are cleaned and maintained according to all applicable regulatory standards, and provides a safe sanitary environment for clients and staff. Meet the facilities needs of the Department of Human Services Northern Region customers while managing available resources to provide a physical environment at the highest quality possible. Additionally, the unit establishes and maintains a pleasant, safe, and sanitary environment for clients, personnel and visitors in the buildings of the Department of Human Services.</p> <p> </p> <p>This position is unique in that it provides Custodial Services for a wide range of agencies within the Department of Human Services which includes the Colorado Mental Health Hospital at Fort Logan (CMHHFL), Department of Human Services (DHS) (1575 Sherman St.), Wheat Ridge Regional Center (WRRC to include the group homes) and Division of Youth Services (DYS) facilities (Prairie Vista, Gilliam, Lookout Mountain Campus, Marvin W. Foote, Mount View Campus and Platte Valley.)</p> <p>The position is required to meet and maintain all regulatory requirements set by JCAHO. (Joint Commission for Accrediting Health Organizations) and the Colorado Department of Public Health and other regulatory agencies. </p> <p>What You'll Be Doing:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performs daily cleaning, sanitizing, and servicing of assigned work area as per schedules and procedures by use of appropriate disinfectant cleaners, chemicals and equipment consisting of sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, and other duties as assigned. </p> </li><li> <p>Performs daily detail cleaning of assigned area as per schedules and procedures by use of appropriate disinfectant cleaners, chemicals and equipment - consisting of washing walls, doors, frames, sills, windows, baseboards, fixtures, furnishings, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures. </p> </li><li> <p>Performs weekly project work within all areas including all hard floor and carpet areas. </p> </li><li> <p>Performs project floor work consisting of buffing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and sealing of hard floor surfaces, and spot cleaning, shampooing and extracting of carpeted floors by use of appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment. </p> </li><li> <p>Collects and disposes of trash and biohazard waste by properly containing and transporting to proper disposal locations. </p> </li><li> <p>The removal of desks, chairs etc., to conduct project floor work in all areas on a weekly basis. Participates in moving of furniture, appliances, equipment, supplies, etc. manually and by use of moving equipment. </p> </li><li> <p>Cleans and services equipment, maintains janitorial closet, supplies, stock levels, and chemical labeling requirements. </p> </li><li> <p>Snow removal.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned. </p> </li></ul> <p>This is a full-time, in-person, essential position that is required to respond in person to call backs after hours to perform essential and/or emergency services of the agency in a timely manner. Shift work may be required and this position is eligible for shift differential. </p> <p>Essential Positions. Positions that perform essential law enforcement, highway maintenance, and other support services directly necessary for the health, safety, and welfare of patients, residents, and inmates of state institutions or state facilities. Employees in essential positions can be only FLSA non-exempt and can be required to work unexpected or unusual work hours to perform the essential and/or emergency services of the department without delay and/or without interruption.</p> <p>Call Back applies when an eligible employee is required to report to work before the start or after the end of a scheduled shift. If there is no release from work between the call back hours and regular shift, it is considered a continuation of the shift and call back does not apply. When call back applies, a minimum of two (2) hours of the employee's regular base pay is guaranteed. Eligible employees are those who are eligible for overtime, and any call back time is counted as work time. </p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: </p> <p>Applicants must have at least three months of cleaning experience. </p> <p>Preferred Qualifications and Competencies: </p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience cleaning and maintaining facilities such as schools, colleges, hospitals, long-term care facilities, mental health institutes or correctional institutions. </p> </li><li> <p>Experience sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, as well as performing general dusting and vacuuming within schools, colleges, hospitals, long-term care facilities, mental health institutes or correctional institutions. </p> </li><li> <p>Possession of a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver's License. </p> </li></ul> <p>Conditions of Employment: </p> <ul> <li> <p>A full pre-employment criminal background check will be conducted as part of the selection process as this position is deemed to have direct contact with vulnerable persons. Felony convictions, conviction of crimes of moral turpitude, or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from being considered for this position. Should your background check reveal any charges or convictions, it is your responsibility to provide the CDHS Background Unit with an official disposition of any charges. </p> </li><li> <p>Must be willing to submit and pass a full background check.</p> </li><li> <p>Travel - May be required to travel to training and meetings. </p> </li><li> <p>Must be willing to receive an annual influenza vaccination or provide a document for a medical exemption or a letter for religious exemption. </p> </li><li> <p>Must successfully pass a Tuberculosis (TB) test. </p> </li><li> <p>Must be available for call back to perform essential and/or emergency services without delay and/or without interruption. </p> </li><li> <p>Must be available for shift work. Will be required to work various hours for coverage, weather related issues and essential/emergency services outside of normal business hours. </p> </li><li> <p>Use, Handling, or Exposure to hazardous materials - Explain: Proximity to moving, mechanical parts, Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals., Exposure to electrical shock, and or working in high exposed places. </p> </li></ul> <p>Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must (1) disclose that information on the application (2) provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position, (3) provide the employee number from the applicant's prior State employment.
