Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a healthier world for all.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Policy and Compliance Consultant position is responsible for implementing human resources policies and supporting the compliance program. This position advises departments and leadership on employment law matters, including reasonable accommodation and workers' compensation processes, and ensures legally compliant consistent and defensible workplace practices. The role facilitates complex HR matters, conducts policy analysis and supports risk mitigation through proactive compliance consultation.</p> <p>Job Location: 700 E. 4th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202</p> <p>Job Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (This position is on site only)</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Communicate and implement new and revised policies </li><li>Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations </li><li>Provide consultation and guidance to employees and management in policy </li><li>Advise employees and management on the proper application of policy and procedures </li><li>Assist in the preparation and analysis of employment related data and reports </li><li>Provide employees and management with information or training related to area of expertise </li><li>Support HR in a variety of projects and initiatives to include, but not limited to, federal & state employment law compliance; assessment/training development and delivery; survey completion and reporting; and policy compliance </li><li>Develop and implement basic to moderate processes and/or programs </li><li>Assists with overall administration of policies and related programs </li><li>Manage and facilitates the reasonable accommodation interactive process in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and appliable state and local laws including intake and assessment of medical documentation, coordination with employees and management, evaluation of essential job functions, and development of appropriate accommodation recommendations. </li><li>Coordinates and oversees workers compensation case administration, including collaboration with supervisors and medical providers to ensure timely claim reporting, return to work planning, light duty placement, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of two years of experience in Human Resources </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field </li></ul> <p>Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?: Yes</p> <p>Licenses and Certifications</p> <ul> <li>May require a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Current PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification. </li><li>Master's degree in Human Resources or related field. </li><li>Experience using PeopleSoft software -Bilingual preferred, but not required. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <p>Knowledge of</p> <ul> <li>Principles, practices and programs related to human resources administration </li><li>Employment laws, ordinances, regulations, and statutes </li><li>Affirmative action and equal employment opportunity policy </li><li>County guidelines and how they apply to human resources programs </li><li>Principles, practices, methods and theories of training and employee programs </li><li>Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including ADA, FMLA, and appliable workers compensation statutes and return to work requirements. </li><li>Knowledge of reasonable accommodation interactive process, essential job function, analysis, and undue hardship considerations. </li><li>Knowledge of medical documentation standards and confidentiality requirements under applicable law. </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Project management </li><li>Organizational skills </li></ul> <p>Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Decision Making: Identifying and understanding issues, problems, and opportunities;
