<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position provides complex administrative assistance and program support to the Center Director and to professional staff supporting the Wisconsin Educational Services Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (WESP-DHH), including Outreach and Wisconsin School for the Deaf programs. The position supports program operations through coordination of administrative processes, purchasing and contract documentation, data tracking, written and electronic communications, scheduling, and record maintenance. This role involves regular interaction with program leadership, staff, families, school districts, and administrative staff at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and serves as a point of contact for responding to inquiries and routing information to appropriate staff. The position requires applied knowledge of program operations, policies, and procedures and exercises independent judgment in completing assigned responsibilities, referring complex or policy-level matters to the Center Director as appropriate.</p> <p>For more information, please view the complete position description.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting salary will be $22.31 per hour (approximately $46,404 per year). For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan effective at time of hire. This position is in pay schedule 02, range 11. A one-year probationary period will be required.</p> <p>Employees in this position may be eligible for a $1.00 per hour add-on for fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), contingent upon achieving an ASL Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) rating of 2+ or higher.</p> <p>This position offers excellent benefits. The State of Wisconsin is a qualifying employer for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Special notes: This position is a full-time, year-round position. The workday is 8 hours, scheduled around core business hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Specific schedule details can be discussed during the interview process.</p> <p>Candidate must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) upon hire. An American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) rating level of at least 3 by the end of probation is required.</p> <p>Remote Work: This position is not eligible for remote work and requires the employee to be onsite at their headquarters on the Wisconsin Educational Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing campus in Delavan, WI, during all regular working hours.</p> <p>Travel: This position does not require travel.</p> <p>Headquarters: The position is headquartered at the Wisconsin Educational Services Program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing campus located at 309 West Walworth Avenue in Delavan, WI. Reimbursement for traveling to or from the employee's headquarters is not provided (e.g., mileage, meals, parking, lodging, etc.).</p> <p>Pre-hire requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted prior to an offer of hire. A TB screen will be required prior to start.</p> <p>Legal authorization: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., without DPI sponsorship). The Department of Public Instruction does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Please address the following in your resume and/or letter of qualifications.</p> <p>A minimally qualified applicant must have experience with all of the following:</p> <ul> <li>American Sign Language fluency. </li><li>Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace, DocuSign, and other financial, student information, or administrative systems). </li><li>Performing office procedures and administrative processes (e.g., scheduling, coordinating meetings, virtual meetings, customer service, and basic purchasing or financial documentation tasks). </li><li>Preparing, editing, or proofreading correspondence, reports, or other professional documents. </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified applicants will also have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience managing records, tracking data, and coordinating administrative processes in an educational or programmatic setting. </li><li>Experience supporting and collaborating with diverse populations. </li><li>Education, training, or experience with IDEA and other federal or state special education laws, policies, or statutes relevant to students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind. </li></ul> <p>Please note that a college degree is not required for this position.</p> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>For this position, please submit an updated resume and letter of qualifications.
