This executive-level role ensures high-quality execution across processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, and secondary delivery, while maintaining full compliance with national mortgage laws, regulations, and investor guidelines. This position plays a critical role in aligning operations with corporate growth strategies, production goals, and risk management standards.</p> <p>Education and/or Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred).</p> </li><li> <p>10 years of progressive mortgage operations experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing national or multi-state operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Extensive knowledge of national mortgage rules, investor requirements, and regulatory compliance.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires National Mortgage Licensing System registration.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven ability to lead and scale operations in a high-volume, multi-state mortgage environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of LOS platforms (e.g., Encompass) and related mortgage technology.</p> </li><li> <p>Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to build effective cross-functional relationships with sales, compliance, IT, and executive teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in a credit union, community bank, or mission-driven lending organization preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with correspondent or wholesale lending preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Successful track record managing change and growth during regulatory shifts or technology transitions preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to travel as needed for business or regulatory purposes.</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Directs day-to-day and strategic leadership of national mortgage operations including processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, and funding.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures operational compliance with federal and state laws (RESPA, TILA, TRID, ECOA, HMDA, Fair Lending, etc.) and all applicable investor/agency guidelines (FHA, VA, USDA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac).</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and execute operational policies, procedures, and systems to support scalability and efficiency in a multi-state environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with national sales leadership to align operational execution with pipeline forecasts, service expectations, and growth targets.</p> </li><li> <p>Leads preparation and response for agency and regulatory audits, including implementation of audit findings and compliance best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages operational performance using key metrics (turn times, pull-through rates, quality control, service levels).</p> </li><li> <p>Builds and mentor high-performing, geographically distributed teams while promoting a culture of accountability, service, and continuous improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Drives implementation of technology solutions and process enhancements to optimize loan flow and member experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures operational readiness for launching new products, channels, or market expansions.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs all duties inherent in the role of a manager</p> </li><li> <p>*Performs other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor</p> </li></ul> <p>Benefits of Joining the Teachers Team:</p> <p>We provide a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes, but is not limited to:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Paid time off for vacation, personal days, and holidays</p> </li><li> <p>Fully-funded pension plan</p> </li><li> <p>401(k) company contribution</p> </li><li> <p>Teachers pays 100% of Dental & Vision premium</p> </li><li> <p>Tuition reimbursement is offered to full-time employees</p> </li><li> <p>Exclusive employee discount of 0.96% APR on credit card loans and a 1.00% APR on all other loans through Teachers</p> </li></ul> <p>The good faith range for this position is $190,000 - $210,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs.
