<p>TROTWOOD-MADISON CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Network Administrator</p> <p>Salary Schedule: Schedule H (Administrative Contract)</p> <p>Work Calendar: 260 days</p> <p>Daily Work Hours: 8 hours</p> <p>Status: Full-Time, Non-Bargaining, Classified, SERS</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Supervisor: Technology Coordinator</p> <p>Job Objective:</p> <p>Provides technical expertise and manual skill in the installation, servicing, configuring, and repair of the district's technology equipment. Ability to diagnose and solve technology problems. Coordinates the technology department including all hardware, software, and staff.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Strong technical skills as evidenced by an associate degree and/or equivalent combination of computer training/work experience. Bachelor's degree preferred.</p> <p>Ability to pass an Ohio BCI and FBI Background Check.</p> <p>Strong interpersonal skills and written/verbal communication.</p> <p>Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.</p> <p>Must maintain a valid Driver's License and ability to travel to various buildings. Must be insurable.</p> <p>Available to work irregular hours and/or a non-traditional schedule.</p> <p>Knowledge of the curriculum process and software applications appropriate for diverse instructional settings and user abilities.</p> <p>A+ or Net + certification is preferred. PowerShell scripting experience preferred.</p> <p>Highly organized and detail oriented.</p> <p>Ability to train adult learners with a wide range of interest and skill levels.</p> <p>Commitment to keeping current with technological advances.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:</p> <p>? Oversees the preservation of the district's technology equipment. Develops rules and procedures that promote the proper use and care of equipment. Works with building staff to address equipment security.</p> <p>? Implement systems for the tracking and documentation of technology needs.</p> <p>? Responsible for weekly status reports to the Technology Coordinator.</p> <p>? Directs the work of PC and Network Technicians under the Technology Coordinator's Supervision.</p> <p>? Evaluates resolutions and analyzes trend data to prevent future problems.</p> <p>? Assists in the planning, development, maintenance and operation of District computers and related hardware and software.</p> <p>? Maintain network security to protect against viruses, hackers, and other damages.</p> <p>? Upholds board policies, follows administrative procedures and complies with the Employee Code of Conduct. Upholds computer technology acceptable use policies.</p> <p>? Promotes a favorable image of the school district.</p> <p>? Receives, inspects, and tests equipment and software. Notifies staff about new acquisitions. Works with maintenance staff on construction/installation activities. Prepares support documentation.</p> <p>? Installs network wiring and connections (e.g., servers, hubs, routers, etc.).</p> <p>? Oversees installation and maintenance of network and telecommunications wiring and connections.</p> <p>? Implements and maintains an effective configuration management system including the set up and maintenance of file servers (e.g., users and groups, space allocations, backups, etc.) for local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).</p> <p>? Performs preventive maintenance and routine cleaning of equipment. Repairs equipment. Keeps work areas orderly. Maintains repair records.</p> <p>? Schedules repairs by outside vendors. Ensures that equipment is safe to use and available when needed.</p> <p>? Requests permission and follows board-approved procedures for the disposal of fixed assets.</p> <p>? Addresses equipment/performance problems as needed.(e.g., trouble shoots technology equipment/software, cable connections, re-sets switches, etc.).</p> <p>? Provides technical support to help students and staff use computers, software programs, printers, effectively. Prepares training materials and instruction sheets.</p> <p>? In collaboration with the network administrator, Develops a plan to allow access to the District's adaptive learning platforms for student use beyond the school day and a plan for targeting students to borrow or purchase needed technology to extend their access to instructional resources from home.</p> <p>? Establishes and manages user accounts. Disables accounts and associated files at the end of the year.</p> <p>? Prepares and submits reports, records, and inventories as directed.</p> <p>? Works with teachers to explore adaptations that will enhance classroom activities.</p> <p>? Assists with the development and maintenance of the district's website.</p> <p>? Creates and maintains the district's technology plan.</p> <p>? Substantiates the need for new equipment and software. Arranges for software previews. Prepares competitive bid specifications. Ensures hardware and software compatibility. Monitors the performance of contractors/vendors. Ensures adherence to district equipment specifications.</p> <p>? Assists with the preparation of foundation/grant proposals as directed.</p> <p>? Arranges software demonstrations. Notifies staff about new acquisitions. Provide individual and small group opportunities for training and problem solving.</p> <p>? Works with supervisors to help staff improve proficiency with technology resources. Helps plan and present in-service programs.</p> <p>? Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.</p> <p>? Maintains high standards and upholds the student conduct code.</p> <p>? Reports student discipline problems, vandalism, and other related concerns.</p> <p>? Take precautions to ensure staff and student safety. Reports unauthorized persons or suspicious circumstances immediately.</p> <p>? Reports evidence of suspected child abuse as required by law.</p> <p>? Participates in staff meetings and professional growth opportunities as directed.</p> <p>? Accepts personal responsibility for decisions and conduct.</p> <p>? Wears appropriate work attire and maintains a professional appearance.</p> <p>? Strives to develop rapport and serve as a positive role model for others.</p> <p>?
