<p>Summary Objective</p> <p>The purpose of this position is to support personal computers (OS, hardware, software), laptops, mobile devices, network printers, remote VPN users, Microsoft Office products, and desktop clients for internal Client/Server applications. Provide advanced level and complex desktop project support.</p> <p>This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <p>The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prepares reports and completes special projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with feasibility studies and cost benefit analyses for systems development projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyzes data, work, and information flow to assist in selection of software and hardware.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with management studies to improve program effectiveness and identify the need for implementation of office automation tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs hardware, software and network support for PCs and PC-based peripherals.</p> </li><li> <p>Receives and responds to calls from the Service Desk tracking system and provides support to users.</p> </li><li> <p>Installs, integrates and configures new computer systems and hardware.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts basic technical diagnostics and deductive investigations for PC hardware, software and peripheral problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides technical assistance and instruction to computer users.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs related work as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.</p> </li><li> <p>Two (2) years of IT hardware configuration, software installation, and help desk experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.</p> </li></ul> <p>OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must submit to fingerprinting for criminal history check.</p> </li><li> <p>Must complete the annual security awareness training.</p> </li><li> <p>Must not have been convicted of a felony.</p> </li><li> <p>Misdemeanor convictions will be considered on an individual basis.</p> </li><li> <p>Must provide one's own source of transportation.</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.</p> </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.</p> <ul> <li>Performs light to medium work that involves walking or standing virtually all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or considerable skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving close tolerances or limits of accuracy. </li></ul> <p>UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS (WORK ENVIRONMENT)</p> <p>Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.</p> <ul> <li>None. </li></ul> <p>AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMPLIANCE</p> <p>Louisville Metro Government is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
