<ul> <li> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> </li><li> <p>Observe, analyze, and record patients' participation, reactions, and progress during treatment sessions, modifying treatment programs as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop treatment plan to meet needs of patient, based on needs assessment, patient interests and objectives of therapy.</p> </li><li> <p>Counsel and encourage patients to develop leisure activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Educate patients with special needs and circumstances on how to modify premorbid leisure interests for optimal participation and independence, the benefits of healthy leisure to promote quality of life, and/or acquire new skills and interests.</p> </li><li> <p>Confer with members of treatment team to plan and implement co-treat sessions, group therapy programs, and to plan and evaluate therapy programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct purposeful, goal-based therapy sessions to improve all domains of patients' well-being.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize patient's personal leisure interests and hobbies to achieve functional rehabilitation goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Obtain information from medical records, medical staff, family members and the patients themselves to assess patients' capabilities, needs and interests.</p> </li><li> <p>Plan, organize, direct and implement appropriate community reintegration training and resources to assure safe community reentry.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document the progress of treatment, and modify specific treatments in accordance with patient status and within the scope of treatment plans established by the recreational therapist</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and submit reports and charts to treatment team to reflect patients' reactions and evidence of progress or regression.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in departmental functions and interdisciplinary committees as needed to support operations.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides information and instruction to patients, families, caregivers and other health practitioners. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> </li><li> <p>Education</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation required</p> </li><li> <p>Work Experience</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience as a Recreational Therapist preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Licenses / Certifications</p> </li><li> <p>Recreational Therapist certification required</p> </li><li> <p>Basic Life Support / CPR, as a healthcare provider, per the American Heart Association required</p> </li><li> <p>FIM Certified required</p> </li></ul>
