<p>Performs professional and supervisory work in the administration of public health nutrition and WIC services for individuals, families, and community groups; oversees daily operations, activities, and personnel in a nutrition clinic.</p> <ul> <li>Manages staff workloads, schedules, and time off requests </li><li>Defines job roles and responsibilities, sets work expectations, including daily work activities and ensures accountability </li><li>Issues formal performance evaluations, provides constructive feedback and affirms employee's strengths; provides guidance and administers crucial conversations and corrective actions (with approval from HR and Legal) and ensures employee relations issues are handled legally and within guidelines/policy. </li><li>Advertises, interviews and hires staff; trains, coaches and mentors a high performing team; and supports skills, personal and career development within the team. </li><li>Provides professional public health nutrition services; assesses clients' nutritional status across the life span; consults with health care providers regarding clients' nutritional needs; makes appropriate referrals to clinical staff, and other primary care providers. Coordinates care activities among caregivers. Documents and maintains client records. Certifies clients as appropriate. </li><li>Provides counseling and develops nutrition care plans for high-risk clients and families regarding nutritional needs, taking into consideration income, cultural food patterns, home facilities, and other psychosocial factors. </li><li>Oversees group nutrition classes for clients; assists in preparing and reviewing educational materials. </li><li>Responds to and resolves complaints, issues, and concerns regarding clients, care providers, and referral agencies. </li><li>Complies with County confidentiality policies and demonstrates accountability for the proper use of clients' protected health information. </li><li>Stays abreast of trends and developments in public health nutrition including but not limited to pre/perinatal, breastfeeding, infant, and early childhood nutrition. </li><li>Interprets and disseminates current scientific information. Applies evidence-based guidelines and best practices to daily activities. </li></ul> <p>Emergency Preparedness and Response:</p> <ul> <li>Responds, as required, to support public health emergencies, incidents, and events. Employee participates in all exercises and drills on emergency preparedness and response, as required. Completion of dietetic internship and have passed RD exam or be RD eligible.
