<p>About the Role:</p> <p>The Float Medical Assistant in Otolaryngology plays a critical role in supporting multiple clinical teams by providing flexible, high-quality patient care and administrative assistance across various allergy and otolaryngology practice locations. This position ensures seamless patient flow and efficient clinical operations by adapting to different work environments and collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The role demands a comprehensive understanding of otolaryngology procedures, patient preparation, and clinical documentation to facilitate accurate and timely care delivery. The Float Medical Assistant is responsible for maintaining patient comfort and safety while performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with examinations, and managing medical equipment. Ultimately, this position contributes to enhancing patient outcomes and satisfaction by delivering consistent, compassionate, and competent support in a dynamic healthcare setting.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred. </li><li>Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is required. </li><li>Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably in otolaryngology or a related specialty. </li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. </li><li>Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard clinical equipment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a multi-site healthcare environment with the ability to float between locations. </li><li>Familiarity with otolaryngology-specific procedures and terminology. </li><li>Additional certifications such as Certified Otolaryngology Medical Assistant (COMA) or equivalent. </li><li>Strong knowledge of insurance and billing processes related to otolaryngology services. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide clinical support to otolaryngology physicians and nursing staff by preparing patients for examinations and procedures, including taking vital signs and medical histories. </li><li>Assist with diagnostic and treatment procedures specific to otolaryngology, such as audiometry, endoscopy preparation, and wound care. </li><li>Manage patient flow by coordinating appointment schedules, rooming patients, and ensuring timely communication between patients and healthcare providers. </li><li>Perform administrative duties including updating electronic health records, processing referrals, and handling patient correspondence with accuracy and confidentiality. </li><li>Adapt to various clinical settings within the otolaryngology department, providing consistent support across multiple locations as needed. </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <p>The required skills enable the Float Medical Assistant to efficiently perform clinical tasks such as patient preparation, vital sign collection, and assisting with specialized otolaryngology procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
