<p>Overview</p> <p>Positions available for Arrangement Designers/Sr Designers with the ability to produce deliverables to support the development of products from design sketches, layouts and/or concepts, manufacture, assembly and test.</p> <p>Department 469, Arrangements Design, is dedicated to providing a high quality overall design for equipment located throughout the ship for their customers by serving as the center of excellence for the overall design of numerous classes of submarines and special programs while fulfilling the Electric Boat and customer requirements & expectations. We ensure the location of equipment will meet all technical, operational, maintenance, sustainability, human engineering design, and safety requirements.</p> <p>Additionally, we create future submarine concepts, locate stowage and lockers for on board repair parts and items need for the sailors to complete their missions, locate lights, provide illumination studies, create flow paths and removal studies, performing roles as system integrators for several classes of submarines and special projects. The CAD programs Arrangement Design uses today are CATIA, NX Team Center, and AUTO CAD. These programs allows us to provide downstream data to the shipyard for the production of the world's finest submarines.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma/GED or Vocational High School diploma </li><li>6 or more years of relevant work experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Two year Technical School/College </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Spatial recognition </li><li>Knowledge of human engineering design standards </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in drafting (portfolio) with Computer Aided Design (CAD) </li><li>Ability to perform design related math functions </li><li>Familiarity with design standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), military specifications, manufacturing processes and lean design/manufacturing </li><li>Desire to develop skills through on-the-job experience and continued education to advance in the design profession </li><li>Familiarity with NX or CATIA design systems </li><li>Able to speak publicly to present design work </li><li>Understanding of equipment flowpath & removals </li><li>Strong communication skills </li><li>Understanding of roles and responsibilities of design </li><li>Strong Teamwork and collaboration ability </li><li>Ability to read and interpret written instructions and drawings (blueprints/Diagrams) </li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft products </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>Creativity and problem solving </li><li>Familiarity with design practices/rules and CAD tools </li><li>Understanding of integration for design elements </li></ul>
