<p>What to Expect</p> <p>As a Tool & Die Specialist, you will support die-set maintenance and tooling changes for production in the Stamping department. The ideal candidates will possess excellent craftsmanship, the ability to troubleshoot, and a commitment to safety and production goals.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <ul> <li> <p>Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and tooling changes for production die-sets</p> </li><li> <p>Support the design and implementation of tooling changes to accommodate part modifications</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain and manage die-set preventative maintenance (PM) system, including scheduling and updating work instructions</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot defects and support the preparation of die check sheets and trial procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain die-set spare parts lists, ensuring parts are stocked and readily available</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement systems to reduce defects, improve productivity, and minimize downtime</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate on Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify risks and create control plans for production dies</p> </li></ul> <p>What You'll Bring</p> <ul> <li> <p>3+ years of hands-on experience with Class A Tool and Die Manufacturing and working in automotive die maintenance and repair. Apprenticeship certification in Tool & Die or equivalent experience</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with high-speed die-sets, including tooling material selection, and knowledge of CNC die surface machining, welding, and spotting</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles (waste elimination, continuous improvement, Just-in-Time, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to interpret dimensional inspection results (CMM, checking fixture, or vision systems)</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and strong analytical skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently and in a team, managing tight deadlines and competing priorities</p> </li><li> <p>Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs</p> </li><li> <p>Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts</p> </li><li> <p>Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day</p> </li><li> <p>Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing</p> </li><li> <p>Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing Protection, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines</p> </li></ul> <p>Tesla is an Equal Opportunity employer.
