<p>Under the supervision of the LEAP Director and the Riverdale LEAP Site Coordinator, the LEAP Before School Lead Teacher provides leadership, plans curriculum, and coordinates supervision of the LEAP Before School Program. The LEAP Before Before School Lead Teachers are committed to making their programs safe and successful and know that important relationships with children, families, and their team are critical to success.</p> <p>Communication and Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Maintain clear, consistent line of communication with families, the Riverdale Site Coordinator, program staff, and administration </li><li>Develop strong relationships with families enrolled in the programs </li><li>Collaborate with school personnel to best meet the needs of children and ensure the program works with the values of the school </li><li>Collaborate with the Site Coordinator in developing and conducting staff meetings </li></ul> <p>Program Planning and Development</p> <ul> <li>Build and manage fun, creative, engaging and educational curriculum for the Before School program </li></ul> <p>Management and Operations</p> <ul> <li>Ensure the safety of all students at all times </li><li>Monitor and supervise transitions including bus dismissals </li><li>Other responsibilities as needed </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit (at times on the floor with children) and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.</p> <p>Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate the following experience and personal qualities:</p> <ul> <li>1-3 years experience in child management related field </li><li>The ability to lead a program </li><li>A creative self-starter who brings wisdom, perspective, confidence and excellent problem solving skills to the position </li><li>The ability to foster positive relationships with all constituencies in a school environment </li><li>A positive outlook, and a sense of humor </li></ul> <p>This is a 10 month position working 6:45-8:45 am Mondays through Fridays</p> <p>Rate: $20-$25/hour</p>
