<p>Parks Assistant - Marina</p> <p>Clay County, Missouri</p> <p>Join our Parks and Recreation team and spend your workdays on the water! We are looking for a dedicated Parks Assistant to oversee daily operations at our full-service marina. This role is perfect for a self-motivated individual who enjoys customer service, hands-on maintenance, and the unique environment of a lakefront park.</p> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>As the Parks Assistant - Marina, you will work independently under general oversight to ensure the marina is running smoothly and safely. Your primary duties will include:</p> <ul> <li>Customer & Marina Services: Manage slip rentals, process retail and fuel sales, and provide water safety equipment to the public. </li><li>Operational Leadership: Assist in supervising seasonal staff, providing training on boat rentals, safety regulations, and the care of live bait tanks. </li><li>Facility Maintenance: Maintain docks and walkways (including trash, spider web, and snow/ice removal) and ensure fueling systems are in top condition. </li><li>Financial Oversight: Manage daily cash controls, revenue monitoring, and bank deposits. </li><li>Public Safety: Serve as an on-call contact for emergencies and report any unusual occurrences or accidents within 24 hours. </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For</p> <ul> <li>Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. </li><li>Experience: Previous marina-related experience is highly preferred. </li><li>Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and record-keeping. </li><li>Licensing: Must possess a valid driver's license; a Missouri Boater Registration Card is strongly desired. </li><li>Physical Ability: Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and able to lift/carry up to 80 pounds. </li><li>Expertise: Knowledge of Missouri fish and game laws (seasons/limits) and marine fueling practices. </li></ul> <p>Why Join Clay County?</p> <p>Clay County provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health and long-term security:</p> <ul> <li>Retirement: Two defined benefit retirement plans (LAGERS and CERF) fully funded by the County, plus a deferred compensation match. </li><li>Health & Wellness: Robust medical, dental, and vision insurance options, including plans with no-premium options. </li><li>Time Off: 14 ½ paid holidays, accrued vacation, and paid sick leave. </li><li>Additional Perks: County-paid life insurance (2x annual salary), tuition reimbursement, and employee discounts at Park facilities, boat rentals, and the golf course. </li></ul>
