Interpretation will be provided in person or by telephone in compliance with National Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, Brigham and Women's Hospital policies and procedures, and Interpreter Services guidelines to ensure patient safety and access to quality care.</p> <p>Does this position require Patient Care?</p> <p>Yes</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for answering requests effectively and in a timely manner for face to face or telephone interpretations for all types of encounters throughout the hospital with priority given to emergency and urgent requests. </li><li>Interprets and transmits accurately and in understandable terms, complex medical information from medi </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <p>High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Associate's Degree preferred</p> <p>Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?</p> <p>No</p> <p>Licenses and Credentials</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, required</p> <p>Prior training of medical terminology and interpreting skills preferred</p> <p>Two years of healthcare related experience in a position of direct patient contact preferred</p> <p>Knowledge of culture-specific care.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E.
