Follows the policies and procedures for the athletic training staff and facilities as established by the Senior Associate Athletics Director/ Sports Medicine. Supervises secondary assistant athletic trainer.</p> <p>Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Requires a bachelor's degree in a job-related field and 3 or more years of job-related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job-related certification, training, education, and/or experience. </li></ul> <p>Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials</p> <ul> <li>Certified by the NATA and eligible for licensure in the state of South Carolina </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Masters degree, Strongly prefer athletic training experience in Division I institution working with the assigned sport. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Other certifications in applicable areas encouraged. </li></ul> <p>Job Duties</p> <p>Job Duty</p> <p>Carries out methods of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries as established by the Athletic Team Physician and Senior Associate AD / Sports Medicine. Work with the assigned strength & conditioning coach to ensure the proper conditioning of the student-athletes in assigned programs. Ensures Head Coaches of assigned sports teams receive injury reports regarding status of injured student-athletes weekly, or as appropriate, during the sports teams' off season.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 50 Job Duty</p> <p>Supervise secondary athletic trainer and graduate and undergraduate student athletic trainers and athletic training students assigned to sports teams within the guidelines established by the Associate AD / Sports Medicine and the Director of the Athletic Training Education Program.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 20 Job Duty</p> <p>Assists the Senior Associate AD / Sports Medicine with the Wellness Program. Orders necessary medical supplies while staying within budget. May provide feedback to the Senior Associate AD/Sports Medicine on annual budgeting needs.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty</p> <p>Provide assistance to student-athletes in the form of nutritional guidance and meal selection in conjunction with the Sports Dietitian.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 5 Job Duty</p> <p>Participate in continuing education programs required to maintain certifications through the NATA and State licensure.</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate AD / Sports Medicine or team physician.</p> <p>Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 10 Job Duty</p> <p>Provide assistance to student-athletes in the referral and scheduling to the Mental Health Team as needed in conjunction with the Director of Mental Health.
