<p>Job Title Campus Volunteer Coordinator Elementary School SUN Department Moreau Center Terms and Hours Approx. 7-10 hrs/wk; Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Job Category Student Employment Hourly Wage Portland Metro Minimum Wage Job Summary</p> <p>Campus Volunteer Coordinators (CVCs) are students who serve as campus liaisons with specific nonprofit agencies in the Portland metro area. These student leaders encourage their peers in volunteerism and civic engagement by creating a clear path for service. CVCs strengthen the Moreau Center by being direct links to the local community and by making local community needs known to their peers and the greater campus community. CVCs report to an agency supervisor and Moreau Center Program Manager for Community Engagement.</p> <p>This Campus Volunteer Coordinator position will support the North Portland Elementary School SUN programs for the 2026-2027 academic year. They will support after school tutoring and food pantry and coordinate fellow UP students to also volunteer at</p> <p>Core Duties</p> <p>The CVC will have a set of responsibilities defined by SUN School Staff and Portland Public Schools, which may include recruitment and training of volunteers, tutoring, event planning/support, or program administration. These tasks will be determined by the needs of the organization and the skills and interests of the applicant. The NoPo Elementary SUN CVC is responsible for supporting two sites, James John Elementary and Ceasar Chavez.</p> <p>In addition to the individual organization's requirements, the CVC will serve as the point-person or link for the organization to the campus.</p> <p>Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Attend Campus Volunteer Coordinator workshop at the start of each semester, facilitated by Moreau Center staff </li><li>Recruit volunteers from University of Portland community </li><li>Maintain updated agency contact info and participant lists for Moreau Center files </li><li>Track and report volunteer engagement and other data, as needed. </li><li>Facilitate transportation of volunteers as needed. </li></ul> <p>(CVCs have access to Moreau Center-assigned vehicles)</p> <ul> <li>Serve in areas of need with the partner organization within the defined scope of the CVC position. </li><li>Other relevant duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Willing to commit to an intensive volunteer experience </li><li>Prior work and/or volunteer experience </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Authentic desire to serve and impact local community </li><li>Personal or vocational interest in some of the following areas: education, social work, social justice, at-risk or underserved youth, environmental issues, poverty, homelessness </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience recruiting and coordinating peers </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Posting Number SE1000-2023 Number of Vacancies 1 Estimated Start Date 08/12/2026 Open Date 04/14/2026 Close Date 09/21/2026</p>
