<p>Overview</p> <p>Metalcraft is hiring a UI / Front-End Developer to support the development of modern, user-friendly web applications. This role will focus on building responsive user interfaces and improving the overall user experience across internal and customer-facing applications.</p> <p>The UI Developer will work closely with the Software Developer and Software Architect to implement front-end features, translate design concepts into functional interfaces, and contribute to the modernization of existing applications. This position is ideal for someone with strong JavaScript and front-end framework experience who is looking to grow their career in application development.</p> <p>Work is onsite only, in Mayville, Wisconsin. Not remote.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly web interfaces for enterprise applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality, functional front-end code.</p> </li><li> <p>Build and maintain components using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Next.js.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with backend developers to integrate REST APIs and application services.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in updating and modernizing legacy front-end code and user interfaces.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure applications are optimized for performance, usability, and accessibility.</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot and resolve front-end bugs and UI performance issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in code reviews and development team collaboration.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with version control systems and issue tracking tools to manage development tasks.</p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to improving front-end development standards, reusable components, and UI consistency.</p> </li><li> <p>Support testing and deployment of applications across development and production environments.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent experience).</p> </li><li> <p>1-3 years of front-end development experience or relevant internship/project experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Next.js.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience integrating REST APIs into front-end applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic knowledge of version control systems (Git).</p> </li><li> <p>Strong attention to detail and interest in building intuitive user experiences.</p> </li><li> <p>Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a development team.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus.</p> </li><li> <p>Prefer candidate with experience with UI frameworks or component libraries.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with Azure-based application environments preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic understanding of Agile or Scrum development practices, preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure to enterprise or manufacturing systems is a plus.</p> </li></ul> <p>Equal opportunity employer - minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity.
