<p>The Johns Hopkins Hospital is a world-renowned leader in patient care, serving the greater Baltimore community and patients from all across the globe.</p> <p>Our friendly and knowledgeable staff teams provide support throughout our many specialty departments and centers, from primary visits to emergency care.</p> <p>What Awaits You?</p> <ul> <li>Career growth and development </li><li>Tuition Assistance </li><li>Diverse and collaborative working environment </li><li>Affordable and comprehensive benefits package </li></ul> <p>Full Time</p> <p>Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD- Surgical Pathology Lab</p> <p>Evenings-1:00pm-9:30pm</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <ul> <li>A pathologist assistant is qualified by academic and practical training to provide the following services under the general direction and supervision of a pathologist: performs gross examination and dissection of all surgical pathology specimens, including complex surgical resections, description and tissue sectioning for histological preparation. </li><li>Obtains specimens from the operating rooms and performs appropriate examination including frozen sectioning and reported gross. </li><li>Specimen photography and radiography as needed. </li><li>Collects and distributes tissue to tumor bank and investigators. </li><li>Assists in training house staff and students in departmental procedures including specimen grossing and processing; photography, radiography, use of cryostats and staining setups, tissue banking and daily operation/flow of the grossing rooms. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Graduation from a NAACLS accredited post baccalaureate Pathologists' Assistant Training Program and ASCP BOR certified (or ASCP BOR exam eligible) or completion of a Bachelor's degree with a major or minor, or equivalent in any of the biological or allied health sciences and ASCP BOR certified (with Pathologist Assistant/Grossing experience). </li><li>Education must qualify individual for high complexity testing per regulatory guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Work Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience preferred. </li><li>Clinical training and rotation required. </li></ul> <p>Licensure/Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must be certified PA (ASCP or department approved certifying agency) within 6 months of hire. Certification or certification eligible upon hire. Employee must maintain certification at all times. </li><li>Authorization to Work in the United States: Applicants who require sponsorship now or in the future will not be considered for this position. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: Minimum $41.70/hour - Maximum $68.85/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.</p> <p>In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.</p> <p>JHM prioritizes the health and well-being of every employee.
