<p>Overview</p> <p>AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.</p> <ul> <li>Conduct research of submarine construction drawings using the Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) System. </li><li>Design and/or analyze pressurized mechanical systems for hydraulics, pneumatics, and seawater to meet requirements such as flow, pressure drop, thermal, and acoustic signature. </li><li>Part of a team that develops submarine shipboard alterations. </li><li>Learn while working with an experienced engineering staff. </li><li>Conduct static analysis of mechanical structures. </li><li>Conduct hydrodynamic analyses under a variety of at-sea operational conditions. </li><li>Develop models to predict performance. </li><li>Assist the Design Team with material selection based on in-process stress calculations as well as commercial and/or military specifications. </li><li>Conduct quality assurance reviews of design and engineering products. </li><li>Interface with customers and government sponsors. </li></ul> <p>What's in it for you:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil or structural engineering.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.</p> </li><li> <p>U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance</p> </li><li> <p>Physically capable to conduct ship checks on United States Nuclear Submarines:</p> </li><li> <p>Be comfortable in relatively confined spaces.</p> </li><li> <p>Capable of climbing vertical ladders (20' - 25') within the submarine.</p> </li><li> <p>At least two (2) years business experience in:</p> </li><li> <p>Working with AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks.</p> </li><li> <p>Working with Piping systems</p> </li><li> <p>Working with Finite Element Analysis.</p> </li><li> <p>Working with Microsoft Office.</p> </li></ul>
