You will play a critical role in monitoring financial performance, identifying trends, and partnering with business stakeholders to optimize transportation costs and efficiency. This role requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.</p> <p>What you will do…</p> <ul> <li> <p>Performance Analysis & Reporting:</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct in-depth comparative analysis of actual transportation expenses against the budget, forecasts, and prior year results.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare and deliver regular and ad-hoc performance reports, highlighting key variances, trends, and potential risks or opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Synthesize complex financial data into clear, concise, and actionable insights for management.</p> </li><li> <p>Budgeting and Forecasting:</p> </li><li> <p>Lead the development of the annual transportation budget and periodic forecasts for the Meals & Beverages Division.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain user-friendly templates for cost center managers to input budget and forecast data.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate closely with Transportation and other relevant managers to gather input, challenge assumptions, and ensure realistic and accurate financial plans.</p> </li><li> <p>Consolidate and analyze budget and forecast submissions, identifying key drivers and potential issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Business Partnering & Communication:</p> </li><li> <p>Build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, including Transportation, Supply Chain, and other finance colleagues.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as a key point of contact for financial inquiries related to transportation expenses.</p> </li><li> <p>Clearly and effectively communicate financial results, insights, and recommendations to various audiences within the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Financial Planning & Support:</p> </li><li> <p>Actively participate in the development of budgets, volume and expense planning, and other financial requirements for the Transportation function.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide financial support and analysis for strategic initiatives and business decisions related to transportation.</p> </li><li> <p>Take ownership and manage operating expenses of approximately $500 million.</p> </li><li> <p>Financial System Management & Training:</p> </li><li> <p>Develop a strong understanding of the financial planning systems used for budgeting and forecasting.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare comprehensive training materials and conduct training sessions for cost center managers on how to effectively use these systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide ongoing support to users, troubleshooting issues and answering questions related to the financial planning systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Process Improvement:</p> </li><li> <p>Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the efficiency and accuracy of the forecasting and budgeting processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Recommend and implement process changes to enhance data quality, reporting capabilities, and overall financial control.</p> </li><li> <p>Other Responsibilities:</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>What you will bring to the table… (Must Have)</p> <ul> <li>This role requires a high degree of independence in managing work assignments and determining the best approach to achieve objectives. </li><li>The individual will be responsible for the analysis and oversight of approximately $500 million in operating expenses related to Transportation. </li><li>Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, identify key trends, and draw meaningful conclusions. </li><li>Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability 1 to present financial information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. </li><li>Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting principles. </li><li>Problem-Solving: Ability to define problems, collect relevant data, establish facts, and develop sound solutions. </li><li>Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and proficiency in word processing (e.g., Microsoft Word) and internet applications. Experience with financial planning systems is a plus. </li><li>Project Management: Ability to develop and coordinate project plans and manage projects to completion within timelines and budget. </li><li>Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. </li><li>Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required. </li><li>A minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting is required. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Primarily an office environment role. </li><li>Occasional need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. </li><li>Requires close visual acuity for tasks such as reading and computer work. </li><li>Regularly required to sit and use hands for computer work. </li><li>Frequently required to talk and hear. </li><li>Occasionally required to stand and walk. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Typical office environment with minimal noise levels. </li></ul> <p>Travel Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Occasional travel may be required (less than 10% of the time). </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits:</p> <p>The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between</p> <p>$85,300-$122,600</p> <p>Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
