<p>Department</p> <p>College of Nursing</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Responsible for the selection, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of patient simulators and providing appropriate patient scenarios that can objectively measure student competency on various skills and abilities for the College of Nursing.</p> <p>Assists the faculty and Director in the selection, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of patient simulation; provide appropriate patient scenarios that can objectively measure student competency on various skills and abilities. Assists with accreditation activities. Assists with maintenance of inventory, equipment, and supplies. Assists with troubleshooting and repair of simulation equipment. Operates and programs patient care simulators, prepares scenario props, and creates scenario moulage to model physiological responses to the clinical and skill objectives and specifications identified by instructional staff. Role plays during simulations as needed. Assists with development and maintenance of the "simulated hospital" environment.</p> <p>Maintains the center at the highest possible readiness level by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on high-fidelity patient simulators and other medical equipment as directed by manufacturer support. Interface with simulation companies' technical support regarding equipment troubleshooting and systems problems; maintains record of repairs and maintenance of the equipment. Masters the operation of simulator technologies by participating in conferences, workshops and/or technical training as necessary. Provides training and/or demonstration sessions for students, faculty, and staff regarding the utilization of computer equipment and high-fidelity simulators. Identifies opportunities for technology improvement and integration into healthcare education. Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots the medical simulation capture system. Records scenario sessions and manages data storage organization. Sets up the projection of live and stored scenario sessions into debriefing rooms and other instructional spaces.</p> <p>Coordinates with faculty and others to plan and provide for patient simulator training for various populations. Teaches faculty and others the proper use of simulators, including start-up and shut-down processes. Collaborates with administration, faculty, staff, and potential funders to demonstrate the various uses of the simulation center. Performs other duties as assigned by the simulation program director and/or the Dean.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, a healthcare-related field or another relevant discipline and four years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to eight years.
