<p>Position Overview: The Engineering Intern - Controls position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on professional experience while contributing to meaningful projects within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Interns will work closely with department staff to support process improvements, data optimization, and technical tasks, such as fixtures and tooling improvements. This internship is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented individual with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally. Interns will develop critical skills, present their work to leadership, and build a foundation for future career opportunities.</p> <p>In this function you will:</p> <p>Dedicate yourself to creating and maintaining a safe workplace free of all injuries. Contribute to process improvements and data optimization within the department, which may include shop support and the material review board (MRB). Assist in fixture and tooling changes. Complete assigned work with a high degree of accuracy and meet all deadlines. Present a summary of key accomplishments and learnings to the leadership team at the conclusion of the internship. Routinely communicate with department staff, providing updates on progress and notifying them of any challenges in completing tasks. Work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment while demonstrating initiative and a willingness to learn. Adhere to working hours as agreed and provide advance notice of any necessary schedule changes. Follow the company dress code, which is casual but appropriate for an office environment. Perform other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Basic (Required) Qualifications:</p> <p>Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship for employment visas. Willingness to comply with pre-employment screening, including reference verification, post-offer drug testing, and background checks. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must have access to reliable transportation to commute to the workplace.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Strong interest in manufacturing, engineering, or process improvement. Prior experience or coursework in electrical controls and principles. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills.</p> <p>Position Criteria:</p> <p>Dedication to workplace safety and adherence to company safety policies. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Highly motivated, with a desire to learn and take on new challenges. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to completing tasks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow company policies, including adhering to work schedules and dress code.</p> <p>Work Environment: This position primarily involves working in an office environment with occasional exposure to manufacturing or shop floor settings. Interns may collaborate directly with various departments, including production and engineering, to support assigned projects. Proper safety equipment, such as eye protection, may be required when working in shop areas or around manufacturing equipment.</p> <p>Physical Requirements: The internship may require sitting at a desk for extended periods, performing normal office tasks such as computer work and phone communications. Some walking or standing may be necessary when interacting with shop floor personnel or supporting hands-on projects. Interns may occasionally need to lift up to 50 lbs. or perform repetitive motions, such as bending or squatting, depending on project requirements.</p>
