This position will be available at the Washington Works site and report directly to the Monomer Mfg. Technology Manager.</p> <p>The Mechanical Engineer will work as part of a team to support day-to-day operations of a manufacturing unit, while also participating and leading improvement efforts.</p> <p>The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Proactively identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical equipment issues to support and improve efficiency of the manufacturing facilities </li><li>Daily monitoring of mechanical equipment performance in the facility </li><li>Work with plant operational teams to facilitate continuous improvement efforts related to mechanical equipment & systems performance </li><li>Implementation of detailed projects covering mechanical aspects of manufacturing equipment/systems </li><li>Participate in project teams and activities related to day-to-day mechanical technical support </li><li>Design and development of operations/maintenance protocols, processing equipment installations and plant upgrades related to mechanical installations </li><li>To conduct field assessments and audits on mechanical equipment </li><li>Maintain and improve the Mechanical Integrity of area equipment </li></ul> <p>The following is required for this role:</p> <ul> <li>BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution </li><li>Experience with industrial mechanical equipment </li><li>Exposure to problem-solving methods </li><li>Meaningful values on safety awareness, implementation, and improvement </li><li>Proficient in typical business software such as Microsoft Office, etc. Thorough communication skills, verbal and written. </li><li>6 months of prior internship or co-op experience </li></ul> <p>The following is preferred for this role:</p> <ul> <li>2+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience (all experience levels encouraged to apply) </li><li>Experience with high hazard chemical manufacturing </li><li>Hands-on experience with mechanical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, such as: </li><li>Pressure vessels, agitators, extruders </li><li>Pumps, critical piping, valving </li><li>Storage tanks, heat exchangers </li><li>Compressors, blowers, industrial refrigeration </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>Competitive Compensation</p> <p>Comprehensive Benefits Packages</p> <p>401(k) Match</p> <p>Employee Stock Purchase Program</p> <p>Tuition Reimbursement</p> <p>Commuter Benefits</p> <p>Learning and Development Opportunities</p> <p>Strong Inclusion and Diversity Initiatives</p> <p>Company-paid Volunteer Day</p> <p>We're a different kind of chemistry company because we see our people as our biggest assets. Factors considered in extending a compensation offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data.
