This position works closely with the production team to eliminate shortages and assist with the organization of materials. The Material Planner also assists in growing and managing vendor relationships to best meet needs of the facility.</p> <p>Duties / Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, create, and expedite purchase orders as required. </li><li>Maintain adequate stock levels while assisting the company in achieving inventory goals. </li><li>Problem-solve and manage supply information relating to purchasing and receiving; must develop a good working knowledge of the current inventory management system. </li><li>Analyze sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements. </li><li>Manage inventory, levels, schedules, and availability of selected items, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules. </li><li>Communicate with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and supervisors on materials status and production planning issues. </li><li>Prepare reports and monitor inventory, material usage and efficiency </li><li>Weekly follow-up of past due orders with suppliers. </li><li>Assist in cost savings initiatives and supplier performance feedback. </li><li>Help develop and reinforce proper inventory practices. </li><li>Align with the cost analyst to determine required materials for production to issue purchase orders </li><li>Create strategic solutions to improve material flow at multiple levels </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred </li><li>1-3 years' prior relevant experience. </li><li>Experience using ERP/Oracle systems and applications in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Must have experience with Microsoft office applications, specifically in Excel. </li><li>Strong systems/process orientation with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Must have a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks. </li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and coworkers. </li><li>Excellent project management and follow-up skills. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. </li><li>Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling. </li><li>Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person.
