<p>Overview</p> <p>The NOC Engineer's primary responsibility is to monitor, troubleshoot, track and report on the</p> <p>daily operational activities and performance of Surf Internet's fiber-based network and</p> <p>systems. This position requires a high attention to detail, and regularly multi-tasking using strong verbal and written communication skills in a collaborative environment.</p> <p>Reports To: Network Operations Manager</p> <p>Department: NOC & Network Engineering</p> <p>Job Status: Exempt</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor the Surf network for events and anomalies that may lead to disruptions to our customer experience </li><li>Initiate, coordinate and lead triage efforts to restore customer services and mitigate future events </li><li>Support, configure and maintain all Route / Switch and optical transport platforms including, but not limited to Juniper, Mikrotik, Infinera and Adtran </li><li>Manage and track all incoming incident requests using ticketing system </li><li>Serve as escalation contact for Tier 2, Technical representatives </li><li>Support internal NOC escalations through Peer to Peer review process </li><li>Adhere to NOC standard operating procedures </li><li>Track all network changes made through CAB ticket process </li><li>Create change management solutions and track through ticketing system, identifying and overseeing notification of impact to customers. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, computer science, or related field of study </li></ul> <p>Preferred.</p> <ul> <li>Strong analytical and problems solving skills </li><li>Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, DWDM, SONET, GPON and Active </li></ul> <p>E fiber networks</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of application transport and infrastructure protocols </li><li>Knowledge of network cabling and network topology </li><li>Knowledge of Routing and switching </li><li>Knowledge of Cambium, Ubiquiti and BaiCells equipment preferred </li><li>2+ years' experience using Adtran, Juniper, Mikrotik, and Infinera equipment preferred </li><li>2+ years' experience implementing, administrating, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices </li><li>Ability to read, decipher and create network diagrams and documentation for design and planning of network communication systems </li></ul>
