Must be available to work additional hours and some weekends as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The principle purpose of the Aquatics Area Supervisor is to assist the Aquatics Program Manager in the planning and administration of aquatics programming at city pools, as well as assist in the management of all pool facilities for the City of Corpus Christi's Parks and Recreation department. Area Supervisors are responsible for the administration of various services offered by the Aquatics department including swim lessons, City Swim League, lifeguard certification courses, and year-round staff in service training.</p> <p>Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ul> <li>Oversees and monitor the performance of seasonal and year-round pools and staff, including the Rec Coordinator and Pool Technician positions to ensure daily operations at pools are conducted according to the SOP of the aquatics department </li><li>Maintain detailed records on the condition of each pool facility and coordinate necessary repairs to keep facilities operable </li><li>Assist the public with general program information including reserving aquatic facilities for private events and training use, as well as the recruitment, training and hiring of seasonal staff </li><li>Oversee the auditing of current programs and lifeguard preparedness, and research and assist in evaluating benefit and feasibility of integration of new programming options and/or procedures </li><li>Maintain all supplies needed by ordering via Purchase Order or Purchasing card, and managing what supplies pools require to run programs and facilities efficiently and in compliance to city standards </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Certification</p> <ul> <li>CPR Certification must be obtained at time of hire </li><li>Standard First Aid Certification must be obtained at time of hire </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associates Degree </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years relative experience </li><li>A combination of education and experience may be considered </li><li>A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Texas Municipal Retirement System - TMRS is a required retirement plan for all full time employees. Each employee automatically contributes 6% of their total compensation and will increase to 7% effective January 1, 2019. The City will match employee contributions 2 to 1 during retirement.. </li><li>Medical/dental/vision/life coverage for employees and their eligible dependents. </li><li>Vacation - 88+ hours per year </li><li>Personal leave - 40 hours per year </li><li>Sick leave - 96 hours per year </li><li>Voluntary 457b deferred compensation plan </li><li>Seven (7) Holidays </li><li>Flexible Spending Account </li><li>City Employee Health & Wellness Clinic </li><li>City Employee Fitness Center </li><li>Learning & Development Academy </li><li>Tuition Reimbursement Programs </li></ul> <p>Basis of Rating</p> <p>Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.</p> <p>Closing Statement</p> <ul> <li>Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. </li><li>Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi. </li><li>In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services. </li><li>This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive".
