This role involves operating commercial sprayers and spreaders to deliver crop inputs during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. During the winter/offseason, the Custom Farm Applicator will support maintenance and operational activities, which may include equipment repair, facility upkeep, hauling grain and fertilizer, and assisting with grain and feed production.</p> <ul> <li>Operate commercial sprayers and dry spreaders to apply crop inputs. </li><li>Apply wet and dry agronomy products to crop fields in accordance with agronomic standards. </li><li>Mix chemicals and fertilizers accurately following prescribed formulas. </li><li>Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs on machinery. </li><li>Report equipment malfunctions and ensure timely repairs are completed. </li><li>Utilize onboard computer systems and technology within application equipment. </li><li>Assist with major equipment repairs, painting, and facility maintenance during offseason. </li><li>Support inventory movement, tracking, and accounting processes. </li><li>Collaborate across divisions including Animal Nutrition, Grain, and Energy business units. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Custom Farm Applicator, Class A or B CDL - Required Skills & Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>Commercial Applicator License (assistance provided to obtain if not currently held). </li><li>Class A CDL (assistance provided to obtain if not currently held). </li><li>Clean driving record. </li><li>Previous applicator experience preferred; experience operating heavy machinery is a plus. </li><li>Ability to work varied schedules and hours based on seasonal and weather conditions. </li><li>Basic mathematical skills for accurate chemical mixing. </li><li>Proficiency with computers and technology systems. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Self-directed with a proactive, action-oriented approach. </li><li>Ability to identify objectives and recommend effective solutions. </li><li>Strong organizational and time management abilities. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills. </li><li>Physical ability to lift at least 75 pounds. </li><li>Comfort working with agricultural chemicals and fertilizers. </li><li>Willingness to work outdoors year-round in varying conditions. </li><li>Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols. </li></ul> <p>Find your place in a positive, supportive atmosphere where opportunity is always growing, with a team that believes in its mission.
