The role involves creating safe, effective, and engaging exercise programs tailored to various fitness levels and medical conditions. The instructor works closely with the hospital's wellness team to contribute to the overall health and rehabilitation of participants.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Lead group exercise classes such as yoga, Pilates, aerobics, strength training, and other fitness programs designed to improve physical health and wellness. </li><li>Tailor classes to meet the specific needs and abilities of participants, including those with medical conditions, physical limitations, or rehabilitation goals. </li><li>Ensure all exercise routines are safe and effective and follow best practices in fitness and health. </li><li>Design and develop new group exercise programs based on the needs of the hospital population, including specialized classes for patients undergoing rehabilitation, seniors, and staff wellness programs. </li><li>Provide personalized guidance and support to participants, ensuring they perform exercises correctly to avoid injury and maximize benefits. </li><li>Work with the hospital's physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare providers to integrate exercise programs into patient treatment plans. </li><li>Collaborate with the hospital's wellness team to promote and market group exercise programs to patients, staff, and the community. </li><li>Stay current with certifications and knowledge of fitness trends, safety standards, and best practices in group exercise instruction. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of class attendance, participant progress, and any incidents or injuries. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <p>High School Diploma or Equivalent required or bachelor's degree Cardiopulmonary & Exercise Science preferred, or bachelor's degree Related Field of Study preferred</p> <p>Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?</p> <p>No</p> <p>Licenses and Credentials</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Experience in group exercise instruction, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting 1-2 years preferred and Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with chronic conditions, disabilities or those undergoing rehabilitation 1-2 years preferred</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, fitness principles, and injury prevention. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire participants. </li><li>Ability to adapt exercise programs to meet the varying needs of participants. </li><li>Proficiency in using fitness equipment and technology to enhance class delivery. </li></ul> <p>Additional Job Details (if applicable)</p> <p>Remote Type</p> <p>Onsite</p> <p>Work Location</p> <p>6 Whittier Place</p> <p>Scheduled Weekly Hours</p> <p>0</p> <p>Employee Type</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Work Shift</p> <p>Rotating (United States of America)</p> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>The General Hospital Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
