<p>Kforce has a client in Saint Petersburg, FL that is seeking a Switchgear Engineer.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Lead electrical designs of high-power systems from concept to production </li><li>Assist in business capture efforts, including estimations and planning </li><li>Develop product requirements from customer input </li><li>Apply applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements </li><li>Select key electrical components with an emphasis on cost reduction </li><li>Design system wiring diagrams, electrical panel schematics, cable and manufacturing outputs </li><li>Perform design analysis, including DFMEA, derating analysis, arc-fault calculations, heat loss calculations, short circuit current limit calculations, etc. </li><li>Develop test plans against customer requirements </li><li>Debug prototype units using standard lab equipment </li><li>Execute verification test plan using standard lab equipment </li><li>Write manufacturing test specifications </li><li>Represent Design Engineering team in technical customer discussions </li><li>Perform design reviews </li><li>Provide guidance to junior engineers* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training </li><li>At least 8+ years of relative experience in electrical hardware design is required </li><li>Experience managing entire design cycles from concept to production </li><li>Electrical design using AutoCAD Electrical, Creo Schematics, Eplan, etap, Solidworks Electrical, or similar </li><li>Expert level knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70), UL508A, or IEC equivalents </li><li>Design and testing of high power systems to commercial product regulatory compliance standards </li><li>Hands on debug and testing of high voltage power systems (=480V) using standard lab equipment </li><li>Field commissioning of such systems </li><li>Successful transfer to mass manufacturing and commercial product launches </li><li>Exposure working with PLCs and industrial communication protocols </li><li>Knowledge of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) or power converter standards such as UL9540, UL1741, or UL1973 is desired, but not required </li></ul>
