You won't just contribute your expertise-you'll be an owner helping shape the firm's future and long-term success.</p> <p>As a Transportation Practice Leader for our Construction Management team in Orange County, you'll lead construction operations, drive business development, and oversee high-profile transportation projects while supporting the continued growth of our CM practice across Southern California.</p> <p>Why Psomas</p> <ul> <li>Shared Success: An ownership culture that rewards long-term thinking and doing what's right. </li><li>Retirement Benefits: Company-funded ESOP + 401(k) with immediate match. </li><li>Hybrid Flexibility: Flexible hybrid work schedule. </li><li>Career Growth: Clear pathways, coaching, and leadership development. </li><li>People-First Culture: Collaborative teams that invest in your development. </li><li>Meaningful Work: Lead transportation projects with regional impact. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do</p> <p>As our Transportation Practice Leader, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for transportation construction management projects including highways, bridges, roadway improvements, interchanges, and transit infrastructure:</p> <ul> <li>Practice Leadership & Strategic Growth </li></ul> <p>Guide the growth of the transportation CM practice, support business development, mentor staff, and strengthen client relationships with agencies such as Caltrans, counties, and local municipalities.</p> <ul> <li>Construction Leadership & Owner Representation </li></ul> <p>Serve as the senior owner representative for complex projects, providing oversight to ensure construction aligns with approved plans, specifications, and regulations.</p> <ul> <li>Project Delivery & Performance Oversight </li></ul> <p>Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, and project milestones to keep projects on schedule, within budget, and compliant with agency standards.</p> <ul> <li>Stakeholder Coordination & Issue Resolution </li></ul> <p>Collaborate with public agency clients, designers, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders to resolve construction challenges and maintain project momentum.</p> <ul> <li>Team Leadership & Mentorship </li></ul> <p>Provide guidance and mentorship to resident engineers, inspectors, and CM staff to build a strong, high-performing transportation CM team.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field </li><li>15+ years of experience leading complex transportation infrastructure projects </li><li>Active California Professional Engineer (PE) License </li><li>Strong understanding of Caltrans and local agency construction standards </li><li>Demonstrated success managing complex transportation programs and client relationships </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Salary: $185,000 - $220,000 annually (commensurate with experience) </li><li>Vehicle Benefit: Auto allowance or company-provided vehicle </li><li>Incentives: Discretionary bonus and recognition programs </li><li>Time Off: 4 weeks PTO plus 8 paid holidays </li><li>Total Rewards: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family, plus employee ownership and retirement benefits </li></ul> <p>Our Hiring Approach</p> <p>Our recruiting team reviews every application personally and will keep candidates informed throughout the process.
