As a privately held organization, Servier is uniquely positioned to advance cutting-edge science, tackle underserved therapeutic areas and make patients the focus of every strategic decision.</p> <p>Role Summary</p> <p>The Associate Counsel - Contracting reports to the Deputy General Counsel and is responsible for supporting contracting and R&D activities. These activities include providing full contracting services to Servier Pharmaceuticals and Servier Bio-Innovation business clients. In addition, duties include supporting various businesses in creating strategies for establishing, operationalizing, and enforcing contracting with third parties and product strategies.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide contracting legal support to key US functions in Servier Pharmaceuticals and Servier Bio-Innovation </li><li>Draft and finalize routine, non-routine, complex and novel contracts for a variety of functional internal clients in an effective, efficient and time-sensitive manner </li><li>Support negotiations with third parties and, where appropriate, negotiate directly with third parties </li><li>Advise, counsel and educate business stakeholders regarding legal and risk management issues as part of their activities </li><li>Support the implementation and updating of appropriate and effective contract templates, playbooks and contracting trainings. </li><li>Report on the status of contracting activities to the Deputy General Counsel </li><li>In coordination with the Deputy General Counsel and other members of the team, provide legal support in connection with a portion of R&D activities. </li><li>Collaborate with other members of the US Legal, Ethics and Compliance Team, as well as Global Legal, on issues of mutual responsibility </li></ul> <p>Education and Required Skills</p> <ul> <li>JD or LLM from an accredited US law school </li><li>Admitted to practice in a recognized US jurisdiction and registered with the MA Board of Bar Overseers as Massachusetts In-House Counsel if not admitted in MA </li><li>4-7 years experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry, including drafting and negotiating a broad range of agreements relevant in the industry </li><li>Previous tenure at a top-tier law firm, practicing in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, biotech, digital health, and/or healthcare practice areas a plus </li><li>Strong interpersonal & presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate and build relationships with others at all levels of the organization </li><li>Ability to clearly, and concisely, explain complex legal principles and positions to business audiences </li><li>Ability to handle, prioritize and follow through on a high volume of work, setting appropriate priorities with internal clients and delivering results efficiently </li><li>Willingness and proven ability to learn and expand legal practice to topics outside current expertise in order to meet the needs of a young and rapidly growing company </li></ul> <p>Travel and Location</p> <ul> <li>Boston based </li><li>Hybrid role with expectation to be in office 2-3 days per week </li><li>Minimal travel as required </li></ul> <p>Servier's Commitment</p> <p>Servier is committed to modeling diversity, equity, and inclusion within the industry.
