<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Brookfield High School is seeking an excellent Physics/ STEM Support Teacher beginning in the 2025-2026 school year!</p> <p>Location: Brookfield High School</p> <p>Position Type: Physics/ STEM Support Teacher</p> <p>Important Dates:</p> <ul> <li>August 25 & 26: New Hire Orientation </li><li>August 27: First Day for Current Teaching Staff </li><li>September 2: First Day for Students </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned physics curriculum for high school students. </li><li>Design and deliver lessons that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of physics concepts, including mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, and waves. </li><li>Utilize hands-on laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and technology-based instructional strategies to enhance student learning. </li><li>Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including advanced students and those requiring additional support. </li><li>Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and adjusting instruction as needed. </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues in the science department to align curriculum, share best practices, and integrate interdisciplinary learning. </li><li>Support students in developing strong scientific inquiry skills and applying physics concepts to real-world situations. </li><li>Encourage student participation in STEM-related extracurricular activities, including science fairs, robotics, or physics clubs. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student performance, complete required reports, and participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Connecticut teaching certification in Physics 032. </li><li>Experience teaching physics at the high school level preferred. </li><li>Strong knowledge of high school physics curriculum frameworks, instructional best practices, and laboratory safety protocols. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and effectively communicate with students, parents, and school staff. </li><li>Passion for inspiring curiosity and a love of science in high school learners. </li></ul> <p>Brookfield Public Schools is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse work environment.
