<p>SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL</p> <p>The purpose of this position is to have an individual who can assist teachers in the delivery of instruction to students.</p> <p>Qualifications: Qualified applicants must forward cover letter, resume, as well as three current letters of recommendation.</p> <p>Education, Training and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma, two years of higher education preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work with students, under the direction of the teacher, nurse/or support staff </li></ul> <p>Knowledge Required:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to follow directions effectively. </li><li>Familiarity with student instructional and disciplinary procedures. </li></ul> <p>Abilities Required:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to implement assigned tasks and activities. </li><li>Diligence in monitoring students' safety and security. </li><li>Ability to support and reinforce the teacher's expectations for students. </li></ul> <p>Skills Required:</p> <ul> <li>Able to follow directions promptly and effectively. </li><li>Able to relate to students as a caring adult. </li><li>Able to work with students on academic tasks assigned by the teacher. </li></ul> <p>Supervision:</p> <p>Supervision Scope:</p> <p>Supervises and supports students.</p> <p>Supervision and Evaluation:</p> <p>Supervised by principal, assistant principal, housemaster or assistant director of special education.</p> <p>Description of Duties:</p> <p>(The essential functions or duties listed only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
