<p>ZooTamp's Marketing & Communications Internship Summer 2025</p> <p>Internship Dates: June 2025-August 2025</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>This member of the ZooTampa Marketing Department will be responsible for assisting the communications team but may also support the brand, tourism marketing and other Zoo teams as needed.</p> <p>Essential Functions (including but not limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Assist with capturing and creating content for various social media platforms to include taking photos, editing videos, and writing copy. </li><li>Analyze and create reports of similar organizations' social media presence and strategies. </li><li>Research new social techniques, platforms, and trends. </li><li>Research animal information to help assist with social media content. </li><li>Monitor Zoo mentions on various social media platforms. </li><li>Assists with video productions to include filming and editing content. </li><li>Assist other areas of the Marketing Department as needed. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Junior or senior in Interactive Media, Video, Digital Arts and Media, Public Relations, Advertising with an interest in marketing. </li><li>Professional, motivated, self-starter </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Experience with photography and/or videography a plus </li><li>Working knowledge of the following social media platforms but not limited to: X, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube </li><li>Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), preferably two years of in-school experience working with these programs. </li><li>Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (mainly Word and Excel) and Google Sheets/Docs. </li><li>Able to adapt well and quickly to various other computer programs and technologies. </li><li>Creative with the ability to think outside the box. </li><li>Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities at one time. </li><li>Has a passion for learning new skills and is self-motivated. </li><li>Ability to work 2 days a week on-site (required). </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Conducts all activities in alignment with AZA standards and guidelines, all relevant laws and regulations, safety standards, and standards that ensure animal welfare. </li><li>Ability to work in extreme weather conditions typical to west central Florida (i.e., heat, rain, or cold). </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, bending, standing, and walking. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>If an internship offer is made, it is contingent on: </li><li>Candidates seeking academic credit must have arrangements agreed upon between the Zoo and their school before beginning the internship. </li><li>All offers are contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background screening and execution of a required hold harmless/liability release agreement. </li><li>Interns must have personal health insurance coverage for illness or injury (as volunteers and interns are not covered by the Zoo workers' compensation program). </li><li>Benefits: </li></ul> <p>Internships are unpaid and are designed to meet academic requirements, as applicable, and provide valuable real-world experience for participants.
