We are seeking applicants who bring an interest in study abroad, a foundational understanding of U.S. higher education, and a commitment to supporting students in their global education journeys. As a trainee, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty and global partners to assist in budgeting, promoting, and implementing short-term programs. You will gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced, passionate, and purpose-driven field of international education while learning how to support students in their study abroad experiences.</p> <p>Central Connecticut State University is the first publicly funded university in the state. As we celebrate 175 years of academic excellence and innovation, please visit CCSU to learn more.</p> <p>About CCSU's Study Abroad and Exchange</p> <p>The Study Abroad unit facilitates transformative international experiences by coordinating both short-term and long-term study abroad and exchange programs. We work closely with academic departments and faculty to support faculty-led programs abroad, and we collaborate with global partners to manage incoming and outgoing student exchanges. Engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, our unit promotes inclusive, high-impact international opportunities that enrich academic and cultural learning-ultimately preparing students for future success.</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>The successful candidate will support key functions within the study abroad and exchange program, gaining hands-on experience in student advising, program coordination, and cross-campus collaboration. The incumbent will have a strong interest in global learning and student mobility. They will assist in advising students on study abroad opportunities, providing guidance on program options, application steps, tuition, travel costs, scholarships, and logistical preparation. With a student-centered mindset, the trainee will help ensure that participants are supported throughout the study abroad process, from pre-departure to reentry. Working closely with professional staff and faculty, the trainee will contribute to the planning and assist with the implementation of short-term study abroad programs, including assistance with budgeting, travel coordination, and vendor communication. The trainee will participate in outreach activities, promotional events, and contribute to program assessment through student feedback.
