This vital role ensures clean, safe drinking water and fire protection across our city.</p> <p>Department: Public Works - Water Division</p> <p>Status: Full-Time | Hourly</p> <p>Location: West Allis, WI</p> <p>Schedule: M-F, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM + On-Call Rotation</p> <p>Salary: Competitive with benefits, paid certifications, and training</p> <ul> <li>Operate and maintain water pumps, reservoirs, tanks, and SCADA monitoring systems </li><li>Collect and analyze water samples for chlorine, bacteria, lead, and other contaminants </li><li>Conduct fire hydrant maintenance and flushing programs </li><li>Support data collection for lead service line replacements </li><li>Troubleshoot alarms and respond to emergencies 24/7 on a rotating schedule </li><li>Maintain accurate records and logs for inspections and reporting </li></ul> <p>Click HERE for full job description (PDF).Required</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>2-3 years of relevant work experience </li><li>Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb towers, work indoors/outdoors year-round </li><li>Strong mechanical, lab, and computer skills (Excel, SCADA, lab equipment) </li><li>Willingness to obtain required certifications (Municipal Waterworks Operator, CDL, NIMS) </li><li>A commitment to public health, safety, and teamwork </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Forklift certification </li><li>LEAN/Six Sigma familiarity </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and SCADA systems </li></ul>
