<ul> <li>Provides effective screening and crisis intervention to individuals and family experiencing or at risk of homelessness. </li><li>Work with individuals and families to prevent crisis and promote treatment engagement, while assessing risk ongoing. </li><li>May help individuals deal with substance use; family, parenting, and marital problems; suicide; stress management; financial issues; and issues associated with the aging and mental and emotional health. </li><li>Must be familiar with and actively refer to various social services resources in Charlotte and surrounding counties. </li><li>Receive referrals from the community based homeless services providers and may require engagement with individuals in the homeless camps, monitoring of those identified in need of services (and often) encouragement to engage in treatment. </li><li>Completes coordinated entry into the homeless services system. </li><li>Collaborates with housing providers to refer individuals for crisis temporary and long term housing. </li><li>Maintains documentation, which is comprehensive, complete, timely, and consistent with standards. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED/equivalent. </li><li>Meet eligibility criteria for Florida Certification Board Recovery Peer Specialist preferred. </li><li>Experience working with persons with mental health and/or substance use disorders preferred. </li><li>Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test. </li><li>Valid FL drivers' license, insurance, and safe driving record. </li><li>Dependable transportation (registered, safe operating conditions, etc.). </li><li>Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures. </li><li>Ability to use a computer. </li><li>Attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in collaboration with other community partners. </li><li>Ability to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service. </li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to perform repetitive tasks. </li><li>Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. </li><li>Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all driving conditions. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 10 pounds. </li></ul>
