<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Support Staff/Instructional Assistant</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>5/9/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>North Greene Jr./Sr. High School</p> <p>(High-Needs School)</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>08/12/2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Open Until Filled</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>North Greene Unit District #3</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>SUMMARY</p> <p>This position provides instruction to students and performs a wide variety of tasks with</p> <p>supervision, presenting and reinforcing learning concepts, and tutoring children in a one-on-one</p> <p>setting.</p> <p>SALARY: Salary information may be found in the Professional Bargaining Agreement at https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/803/North_Greene_Unit_District_3/2371030/Professional_Negotiations_Agreement-North_Greene_UD_3_2022-2025.pdf.</p> <p>DUTIES</p> <ol> <li>Supervises students placed in In School Suspension and monitors them to make sure they </li></ol> <p>are following school rules.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the </li></ol> <p>maturity and interests of the students.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, </li></ol> <p>and facilities.</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules.</p> </li><li> <p>Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists students with academic development by tutoring a variety of subjects and</p> </li></ol> <p>providing help with assignments.</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Gives help and is available to answer education-related questions to students and parents </li></ol> <p>during the school day.</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Supervises students in classrooms, halls, cafeterias, schoolyards, and gymnasiums, or on </li></ol> <p>field trips.</p> <ol start="9"> <li> <p>Distributes tests and homework assignments, and collects them when they are completed.</p> </li><li> <p>Enforces administration policies and rules governing students.</p> </li><li> <p>Meets with Attendance Secretary, Dean of Students, and Principal to discuss student</p> </li></ol> <p>behavior.</p> <ol start="12"> <li>Perform all other duties reasonably related to position as may be assigned by Building </li></ol> <p>Administrator or Superintendent.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ol> <li> <p>Teaching License or Substitute Teaching License as required by the State.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be familiar with the use of computers including but not limited to electronic mail,</p> </li></ol> <p>the Internet, word processing, and electronic spreadsheets (Microsoft Office).</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with those </li></ol> <p>contacted in the course of work (students, parents, and staff).</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate to students, parents and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.</p> </li></ol> <p>SCHEDULING</p> <p>The schedule is 8:00am to 3:30pm. This may be subject to change with district demands in compliance with the applicable.</p>
